Wondering where all the produce came from? In addition to our local farm purchases, Ecoplexus, Inc sponsored a truck of fresh produce delivered straight from the packing house to Washburn Community Outreach Center. Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Onions, Carrots, Potatoes, Apples Fruit Juice and more came directly to us and out to our clients. What a blessing and a gift from Ecoplexus, Inc.

On the eve of the hurricane's landfall, September 25th, four volunteer drivers from Washburn Community Outreach Center met with employees at the Timken plant in Rutherfordton to pick up 6 pallets of food! This is the most substantial and successful food drive we've ever received from one single local business. Timken employees collected over 3500 lbs in their company wide food drive, and frankly, this is the reason we were able to open as scheduled every week since Helene. The winning employee team (in green) is pictured here with WCOC volunteers (in yellow.) Thank you, Timken for such an impactful food drive, and such impeccable timing.

Our apologies for the delayed celebration and thanks to Timken, it's been a little wild through here since that day.
