We made it to the semi final round! Whichever pet is in 1st place Monday at 9pm goes to the Championship. Winner of the 10k Grant announced a week from today. It will be a tough competition, so keep voting daily for our sweet boy, Toby!

Today we have adoptions at Petco Youree from 11 to 1 and Paws in the Park (with kittens and lots of fun activities!) From 10am to 3pm. Should be a fun day!

ADOPTION EVENTS THIS WEEKEND!

We have lots of kittens (more than pictured) looking for homes and fun acitivies going on this weekend!

**Petco Youree adoptions- Saturday 11am to 1pm.

**Paws in the Park - Saturday 10am to 3pm (this is a big fall festival where proceeds to to local rescues ! 5315 s. Lakeshore dr. Adoptable dogs and cats there, too)

We wanted to share this post from another local rescue because we see some of the same sad situations with certain surrenders. There are definitely times it is best to find a new home for a cat, but most of the reasons we get are 'we are too busy and don't have time, I'm pregnant, I had a baby, my new boyfriend doesn't like cats'. A case today was someone who adopted a cat from us years ago surrendered her to animal control because when their baby made a noise on the bed, the cat jumped up to see what was going on. Jumped on the bed. Didn't scratch (she's declawed), didn't attack, just got on the bed. We are going to pick her up this week and get her back to us. A lot of times, it seems like people adopt and see the cat as a piece of decor or toy and when they get bored with the cat, they give them away. Some cats do fine being surrendered. Most are depressed, anxious, won't eat, hide for weeks, etc. Cats have feelings and love their owners (Well, most of them; some of our rescues would be fine if we just left food in the room and avoided eye contact!). Cats and dogs and all pets deserve to be loved in return their whole lives. Please don't adopt if it's just something fun to do in the moment. Really think about these babies!

Paige was living behind the rescue with her two kittens this summer. We were able to catch the kittens and trap Paige before it got too hot outside. Paige ended up being sweet! She was just scared at first. She is a gentle, quiet girl who does great with other cats and likes to be petted. We are so glad we were able to get her!

Anyone able to take on some bottle babies? They should wean soon but probably need a couple weeks to learn and grow. They were dumped in a plastic tub at someone's house :(
