The month of September our BYL students had the opportunity to learn about Education and were able to interact with the elementary students. We started the day at our Bossier Schools central offices and was able to speak to those that help move our schools to the next level. Thank you to our Superintendent Jason Roland for kicking off the tour. Our next stop was at Bellaire Elementary and the students had a great time interacting with elementary students and were able to participate in the classroom activities. We ended the day hearing from our local school board members as well as from Dr. Tracy Burrell who oversees the teacher/recruiting department. Our high school curriculum team put together an actual teacher lesson plan project giving the students and actual view into how teachers prepare for their class weekly. The education session allows our students to see the behind the scenes of an actual school day/year and also give them some in-site on a career in education.
