It has always been our goal to improve our town, and as we continue to grow, let's grow in the right direction. With the support of our city staff, I am pleased to announce the beginning drive to start a hiking/biking/cross-country skiing trail that will hopefully encompass Boscobel, Woodman, and Wauzeka with bridges that will allow us to view the scenic Wisconsin River as we never have viewed it
before. Our first step is to complete the Sanders Creek walkway out to the boat landing to allow for safe travels to enjoy the beautiful nature, scenery, fishing, canoeing, or picnicking. Our second and more monumental step is to create a non-motorized trail through the scenic bluffs and riverways that makes our beautiful area a one-of-a-kind outdoor scenic wonderland that we can share with other outdoor enthusiasts, whether it would be hiking/biking/cross-country skiing, or just getting a little out of town to smell the fresh air and feel closer to nature. Our hope is that parts of the trail would be handicap-accessible to ensure that everyone could enjoy the Wisconsin River beauty equally. The DNR has these two projects on their "master plan" for the Lower Wisconsin Riverway and has informed us that the more support that exists for these projects, the stronger their commitment will be to complete these tasks in a timely manner. Through grants, fundraisers, and donations, let's continue to look ahead in the future of our children and grandchildren and make our hometown area a little bit bigger slice of heaven than we already know it is! Please join our group, spread the word, and contact any of the committee if you have a desire to help us press on with assistance with fundraising, donations, or talents such as marketing, web design, or volunteering in any other way. Thanks and let's leave a legacy for our children!
