Proud to recognize BAC/ADC of NJ Locals 4 & 5 for their contribution to a meaningful labor memorial project at the American Labor Museum in Haledon, NJ.

The “Tree of Life” monument was created to honor workers who lost their lives on the job and to stand as a lasting reminder of the importance of workplace safety and solidarity within the labor movement. The monument was unveiled on Workers’ Memorial Day and serves as a tribute to those who never made it home from work.

BACNJ members were proud to assist with this important project, helping bring the monument to life through the skilled craftsmanship and dedication that union Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers provide every day.

This memorial is more than a sculpture — it is a symbol of remembrance, respect, and the continued fight for safer working conditions for all workers.

We are honored to have played a role in preserving the history and values of organized labor at the American Labor Museum. Solidarity forever.

We want to thank Governor Sherrill and Commissioner Jarvis for their leadership in adopting clear worker classification rules that protect workers’ rights and ensure responsible employers are no longer undercut by the underground economy.

This marks a great step forward for workers and contractors who play by the rules. BACNJ proudly supports efforts that strengthen fairness, protect union jobs, and uphold the integrity of our industry.

Big news for the future of our industry and our members.

The New Jersey Institute of Technology NJIT, Hudson County Community College , and the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Administrative District Council of New Jersey have come together to create a groundbreaking Apprenticeship-to-Degree pathway—connecting hands-on union training directly to college degrees.

This partnership allows our apprentices to turn their real-world training into college credits, ultimately advancing toward an associate’s and even a bachelor’s degree—all while continuing to work in the field.

A major driving force behind this initiative is our Director, John F. Capo, whose leadership continues to push opportunities forward for our members. As he stated, this milestone recognizes the true value of our apprenticeship training and creates a clear path for career advancement without stepping away from the trade.

This is what building the future looks like—combining education, experience, and opportunity to strengthen New Jersey’s workforce and elevate the next generation of skilled craftworkers.

Last week, the BAC/ADC of NJ Local 4 had the pleasure of hosting students from Passaic County Technical Institute for an in-house Career Day!

Our team along with Local 4 Instructor, Eric Doherty, spent the day introducing the students to the opportunities within our union, walking them through the apprenticeship process, and showing them what a career in the masonry trades can truly look like. The students also enjoyed lunch with our members and got the chance to participate in hands-on activities, giving them a real feel for the craft.

A special thank you to part-time instructor Paul Hague, who worked with the students to demonstrate the basics and help them get started. We’re excited to welcome Paul as the instructor who will be leading the new masonry program launching next year at PCTI!

Investing in the next generation is what keeps our trade strong, and we’re proud to play a role in shaping the future of skilled craftsmanship. 💪🧱

The BAC/ADC of NJ Locals 4 & 5 came together this April to recognize dedication, achievement, and the continued strength of our membership.

At Local 4, we proudly honored Brother Vincent Nicoletti for 25 years of membership and commitment to our union. His years of hard work and dedication are a testament to the strength of our craft.

At Local 5, we also recognized Brother Daniel Siteman, IMI Director of Industry Advancement and Technical Services, for his 25 years of service. His contributions to the industry and our union continue to make a lasting impact.

We were also proud to celebrate Brother Axel DeLeon, who successfully completed his apprenticeship and was sworn in as a Journeyman. This milestone marks the beginning of the next chapter in what we know will be a strong and successful career.

Congratulations to all of our brothers for their achievements and continued dedication. The future of our union remains strong because of members like you.
