Congratulations, Emily!!!!

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouts - and we would like to share this year's recipients leading up to the celebration to shine a spotlight on Girl Scouts who have put in the hard work to change their communities.

This Spotlight Story is focused on Emily A. of Troop 81705!

Emily renovated the Children’s Garden near the historical Wicoff House in Plainsboro Twp, NJ, and built and installed a Storybook Trail at the garden. A lack of maintenance and exposure to natural elements had caused the garden to become worn-down, and there was also no educational material in this outdoor space. Emily created a storybook trail to have a space for children to enjoy access to fresh air and education, built entirely out of pressure treated, weatherproof wood materials to ensure sustainability. The project also improved and expanded certain existing aspects of the garden, such as paths, signs, and a Little Free Library. Emily added educational, garden-related material to the area to further educate visitors about local wildlife.

Thank you, Emily, for your incredible work and congratulations!

Let’s go, Christina!!! We are proud of you!!!

A Girl Scout alum is about to make history. 🚀 Christina Koch is part of the crew for Artemis II, NASA’s first crewed Moon mission in more than 50 years. With final launch preparations underway, this moment is officially real.

Celebrate the countdown by earning Space Science badges and exploring what it takes to launch, do a lunar flyby, and return. https://link.girlscouts.org/404ZTYh NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration NASA Artemis

Now we can finally share! For our , we created a homemade coloring book, filled with our own drawings of animals eating silly foods! We donated them, along with crayons, to Capital Health for pediatric patients. We hope they bring kids a little smile when they need a hospital stay for any reason!

From brainstorming ideas, to drawing and editing, to learning about the printing process from our friends at Brookdale Community College, to budgeting how many we could produce using our cookie sale money, we had a blast and are so proud of ourselves!

To all who have purchased cookies from us - you made this possible! THANK YOU for your support!

Thank you to the Girl Scouts of Central & Southern New Jersey for generously donating 475 handmade coloring books, which are sure to brighten the days of our pediatric patients at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell. If you would like to make a donation or gift of support to Capital Health, please contact the foundation at 609-303-4121 or email [email protected].
