YMCA Alliance of Northern New England At the Y, strengthening community is our cause.

Supporting, educating and inspiring collaboration amongst the YMCAs in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont to increase and strengthen our impact and advocate for positive change. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. The Alliance supports collaboration amongst the northern

New England states’ Ys and community partners to increase our impact and advocate for positive change in our communities.

Calling all YMCA changemakers! 📣 This spring, the Y is launching a nationwide Advocate Recruitment Campaign to strengthen our collective voice. As an Advocate, staying informed and speaking up on issues that impact our Ys, families, and communities truly matters.

One small action can create big impact: invite others who care about the Y to join the YMCA Advocacy Network. When more voices come together, policymakers hear a stronger, more diverse message about the essential role the Y plays in community well‑being.

Help us grow our advocacy network by sharing this with Y staff, volunteers, members, and the parents/caregivers connected to our programs.

🎉 What a day in Augusta! 🎉

On Monday, YMCAs from across Maine came together for State Advocacy Day—while also celebrating 175 years of the Y in America! With both House and Senate Sentiments recognizing the Y’s impact, it was a meaningful moment to reflect on our history and momentum as a movement. More than 20 dedicated Y staff and volunteers showed up to proudly represent our mission.

Grateful for the passion, advocacy, and community that make the Y such a powerful force across Maine.

A big shout out to our lobbyist, Clara McConnell from Maine Street Solutions, for making this day so special!

Thank you for joining us!

Please join us in welcoming the new Chief Operating Officer of the Alliance, Katie Parker.

Katie has 20 years of progressive leadership experience in the YMCA movement, she brings a deep commitment to advancing the Y’s mission through organizational growth, program innovation, and community impact.
