Thanks for everyone's help and concern in fire hydrant matter. The person has taken care of the cost and we appreciate them doing the right thing! We will put this matter behind us and start planning the 2027 celebration!

09/13/2026

Monday morning before the parade at 6:21 am someone ran over a fire hydrant by the exhibit building at the fairgrounds. They proceeded to run completely over it and continued on. The repairs will cost the Labor Day Association between $1200 and $1500 if the individual doesn’t come forward. The security cameras caught it on video including the vehicle. I have hopes that the individual will come forward without posting the video or the still picks of the lifted truck. The Labor Day Association and all of its Delegates and Volunteers work very hard to keep our cost down so we can continue to offer free rides and an affordable event for everyone; costs like this are unnecessary.

Please reach out to us privately with any info. Otherwise, we will weigh our options with the security footage.

This coming Monday night (September 14th) we will start looking forward to the 2027 celebration, by having our nominations for the 2027 Officers. All delegates have a right to nominate or second a potential candidate for office. In order to accept a nomination, a potential candidate must be a delegate in good standing!

All delegates are encouraged to attend the 7pm meeting.
