We had a great day at the despite the cold. We want to give a BIG thanks to all the plungers, wonderful sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and staff of Special Olympics Indiana. And of course, the Boonville Fire Department for ALL the hard work they put into cutting the ice on Thursday, cutting and moving what formed Thursday night and Friday night. And providing the divers for the safety of our plungers. We couldn't have done it without all the hard work Scales Lake Park put into clearing the roadways, clearing the parking lots, and clearing/grooming the beach. Thank-you, thank-you! And a big thanks to the Warrick County Sheriff's Office for providing safety and our LETR torch runner. And thanks to St. Clement for providing their Social Hall for our Registration and After Splash Bash. Warrick County School Corporation provided the buses for our much needed shuttle service to the lake. We cannot forget those important porta-potties, supplied by Nix Sanitary Service. It all made for a safe and enjoyable plunge.
Our premiere media sponsors, 14 NEWS and 104FM WIKY provided us with our great emcees, Byron Douglas and DJB. Great coverage on the TV and Radio from both sponsors. And Eyewitness News WEHT WTVW provided great coverage on the day of the plunge! The Boonville Standard provided us with some pictures of the plunge also.
With the support of everyone listed above, we had 112 plungers and brought in over $44.000 to help support over 20,000 athletes across the State of Indiana train and compete at no cost to them.
Teams that competed: Old Guys, Perry County Plungers, Vanderburgh County APEX/Icebreakers, Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office Jail Division, The Tenners, Ice Ice Baby, Warrick County Chill Seekers, ASA Delta Kappa Chapter, Posey County Tengo Frio, Castle Top, Knights of Columbus, RPI Physical Therapy, Free Hugs, Evansville Coke Cool Runnings (Coca-Cola Consilidated was a State sponsor). Plus all the individual plungers. THANK YOU!
