Art Project: Bringing artists, and the community together through decorative dog sculptures on Main Street Boonton, NJ Your sponsorship is 100% tax deductible.

Boonton Arts invites you to become a part of an exciting and unique art project. This public art installation showcases artists' custom designs on life sized fiberglass dog sculptures displayed in Boonton's Main Street. The dogs are sponsored by the public at a sponsor party and online. Once sponsored, the artists who created the design gets their dog and begins work. When the dogs are finished and put on display in June, they attract viewers from all over the county and beyond. For the duration of the summer, the dogs are available at an online store for a donation to two local animal shelters, Boonton Arts and the artist. The remaining dogs are then auctioned at a closing party and art auction in October. Sponsorship is always appreciated, by sponsoring and lending your name to this dynamic project you will help raise money for 3 community organizations and supporting a local artist while gaining wide public recognition for your generosity. Together we can help animal shelters receive much needed funds to continue to provide their services as well as assist Boonton Arts and local artists to engage and inspire our community with the arts.

Hello friends, I am reaching out from my heart in the hopes of inspiring my community to join me in participating in the Small Town, Big HeArt public art project. Let's create something that moves us all closer together and tells our story. The more we express our love in our community the more our connection grows.

There is still time to pick up a heart, the due date has been extended to May 31st. You don't need to be an artist, all you need is an expression of love for our community, this project is open to all!

Dog Days of Summer will be back next year with a call to artists going out this fall. Yes, this is a different canvas this year but the mission is the same. To make a positive impact in the community through creativity and the power of art.

We are the sum of our hearts. This project is important. How beautiful it will be to see our collective HeArt on display. Please consider participating. I am so grateful to be part of this beautiful community, thank you Boonton for being such a wonderful place to call home!

Small Town, Big HeArt Project, Summer 2024

Boonton Arts invites you to join us in a new collaborative community art project! The Small Town, Big Heart Project is an opportunity for community members and students to create a 12” custom panel to be displayed in store front windows this summer.

To participate, you can pick up a blank panel at Boonton Arts / Speakeasy Art Gallery at 816 Main Street, Boonton. We are asking a donation of $25 to help fund this and future Boonton Arts projects, We are inclusive to all and are happy to waive the donation fee for anyone who requests. We don't want the fee to be an obstacle, we want all who wish to participate to do so!

Pickup and drop off hours are:
Tuesdays 4-8:30pm
Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays 4-5:30pm
Saturdays 10am-2pm

Panels must be completed and brought back with registration to Boonton Arts by May 31st!

You don’t have to be an artist to participate, any and all are welcome to create a piece for the exhibit! Looking for ideas? Think about how you can convey what our Boonton community means to you. What makes it special? What is your favorite thing about our community? What locations in the community are special to you or have made a difference in your life? Why is it important? What unites us? What is our strength? What is our connection? How do we support one another? What moves or impacts you? Who, what and where inspires you?

Panels will be yours to keep at the conclusion of the exhibit. We can't wait to see your ideas come to life!

We are writing to you after a great amount of thought and consideration to announce that The Dog Days of Summer & Some Cool Cats project and exhibition will be on pause for 2023. We want to thank each and every one of you for your support, participation and love, it has been our greatest pride. After ten years, we feel it is time for us to reimagine our mission to grow our organization's impact in a more permanent way.

The Dog Days of Summer project demands an extraordinary amount of time, effort and funding. Last year was difficult. There were damages and thefts far beyond all previous years combined. With that, there are also over 70 sculptures from the last two exhibits still available for adoption on our website. If you are interested in viewing and/or owning any of these amazing works please www.BoontonArts.org. Your purchase will support NorthStar Pet Rescue, Boonton Arts, local schools and the amazing artists.

We hope this pause will help us make a larger, more permanent impact in our community and offer more fruitful opportunities for the amazing artists we work with. Our goal is to return in 2024 with a more streamlined Dog Days of Summer project with the potential for significant and permanent growth. We also plan to unveil new projects for 2023 soon. These projects will be larger endeavors and will be a consistent draw for Boonton as an arts destination in New Jersey.

The past few years have been challenging in so many ways. For us, it has been a roller coaster ride with some difficult hardships and some extraordinary blessings. Needs of family, work and business have grown more demanding. Change is necessary to allow for growth in all aspects of our lives as artists, teachers, business owners and people. In turn, we will be able to make even more of a difference in our community for our next 10 years to come.
