Big shout out to Saturday’s Showdown competitors Phil and Chris. These smiths took the 101 course within the past year and they are already showing up to forge nights and competing in competitions. Great courage, community, and consistency.

The Blacksmith Guild of Western Maryland is bringing the fire all month long — whether you’re ready to compete, learn, or just swing a hammer, there’s something for you.

⚒️ May 2 – Mousetown Showdown (9am–4pm)
Head-to-head forging, team rounds, and free to attend or compete.

🔪 May 9–10 – Beginner Bladesmithing (9am–5pm)
Forge your own knife & sheath in this two-day, hands-on class.

🔨 May 23–24 – Hammer Making Class (9am–5pm)
Build your own hammer from the ground up — fire to finish.

🔥 Every Wednesday – Open Forge Nights (5–8pm)
Members-only shop time. Bring your projects and get after it.

🎟️ All Month – Anvil Raffle Tickets
Win a 140 lb anvil. Tickets sold in person only at events & classes.
