☀️ That's a wrap on another incredible CDA Summer Camp! ☀️
What an amazing summer of learning, laughter, and unforgettable memories!
Monday's excitement with the planetarium (previous post) was just the beginning this week! We ended camp with an exciting week full of hands-on experiences. Students enjoyed a visit from 4-H, where they participated in engaging activities and even got up close with a reptile petting zoo! 🐍🦎
On our final day, Bentley Burns inspired campers with an interactive magic presentation centered on the importance of perseverance, having a positive attitude, and committing to continuous learning. His message reminded students that with determination and curiosity, they can accomplish great things. ✨🎩
We also wrapped up camp with one of our favorite traditions—CDA Olympics! 🏅 Campers worked together in teams to tackle a variety of fun challenges that tested their teamwork, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills. The competition was fierce, but the sportsmanship and encouragement shown by everyone made us all winners.
Thank you to our students, families, guest presenters, staff, and community partners for making this summer such a success. We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful school year, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for each of our campers!

This morning, students had the opportunity to explore constellations and the myths behind them during an immersive presentation by guest speaker Mr. Blake from the UNA Planetarium. This unique learning experience was a tremendous hit with both students and teachers.

We ended Week 3 of summer camp with a bang! Huge thanks to Debora Waz with Mississippi Museum of Natural Science for coming and doing her reptile program with our students! It was a huge hit with everyone.

We are having a great first week of camp! A huge thank-you to NEMCC Campus Police for taking time to speak with our students yesterday. They shared valuable information about internet safety and wrapped up the visit by giving students an opportunity to explore their equipment and gear.

We are so excited for camp this year! Week One is officially FULL, and we now have limited spots remaining for the rest of the summer.
If you’ve been meaning to sign up, now is the time! We’d love for your child to join us for a summer full of fun, friendships, and great memories.
