LTRGs in NC!! Thanks to the generosity of the NCCF we are able to fully approve and move along applications to our building supply initiative— this provides up to 5k of building materials to rebuild projects for hurricane helene victims!

📢Exciting News📢

We at State Line have Officially Launched our Building Supply Initiative!

Organizations in WNC and TN that work with Hurricane Helene Victims can fill out the form on our website for building materials and we will be able to grant up to 5k worth of supplies per household to assist with ongoing rebuilding efforts.

This is a marathon, not a sprint, and we are in it for the long haul!

It’s almost been a week since the very successful Doc Watson 103rd Birthday in Concert Fundraiser! Thank you to everyone that attended, danced, and sang along!

Big shoutout to caleb.hignite, lukeward8, rabbitinalogg and missmaybellesmmm for sharing your talents and passion with all who attended!

Thank you to ash.scavotto for running the door and barefoot_bennys_starlit_circus for running sound and everyone who volunteered their time for this event. Thank you, above all, to huzzahbooks for providing the space for such a powerful and unifying experience. Lastly, thank you to parallelbrewco for donating a portion of drink sales!

We raised nearly $1000, and every penny will go to Brittany’s Grant, which will directly aid in local Helene-recovery efforts!

Side note!

After filing for 501(c)3 status back in January, State Line Resource is **officially** a nonprofit organization! This will significantly expand our abilities going forward! There are only exciting things to look forward to, and none of this would be possible without the support of the State Line community!

Born in High Point, North Carolina in 1980 and raised in Charlotte during the ’80s, I first found my way to Boone in 1999 and have proudly called it home since 2004. With over 30 years in the service industry, I’ve built a life around hospitality, good food, and bringing people together.
I’m one of the partners at Cardinal Food & Spirits and helped start Lily’s Snack Bar, projects rooted in community, quality, and a love for simple things done right. I’ve been married since 2010 to the most wonderful woman I know, and together we’re raising two incredible kids, Major and Roc L.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me outside, chasing good tacos, or admiring old trucks.

Tennessee Folks!

The USDA just announced a grant that homeowners affected by Hurricane Helene in Carter, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Sevier, Sullivan, Unicoi or Washington counties may be eligible for!

Homeowners may be granted up to $44,000! This is excellent news in helping our communities recover.

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 21, 2026 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Tennessee State Director Patrick Jaynes today announced the state office has $3 million available in grant funding to provide relief to homeowners affected by Hurricane Helene.

A Night of Doc Watson Tunes to Celebrate Doc’s 103rd Birthday and raise funds for ongoing Hurricane Helene relief efforts in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. This event will be held and co-hosted by our friends at Huzzah Books.

Dr. Mary Ballard is a developmental psychologist who teaches in the psychology department at Appalachian State University. She started working with State Line Resource Station in October 2024 after Helene hit the region. She is currently serving on the executive board and as secretary for State line. She was also a founding board member for the Immigrant Justice Coalition and continues to volunteer with that organization. In addition, she volunteers at the Foscoe Home Team Storm Relief Store and teaches a karate class.
