If you have not been to the new Goofy Foot Taproom Boone be sure to get there during Pride Month!

"At the corner of King Street and Appalachian Street is a taproom that started in the notes app after a conversation about 'What would you do if money was no object?'

After working as a software engineer for 20 years, Jeff Thompson opened Goofy Foot Taproom High Point and just opened in Boone. 'We want people to come in, put the phones down and have a conversation with each other. We try to create a laid-back environment for that.'

A program Thompson is most proud of is 'Pints for a Purpose.' Customers can round up their total to donate to a charity each month, and this month’s charity is the Be Youth Alliance, High Country LGBTQ Youth Alliance, in honor of Pride Month!

We’re excited to have our first Pints For a Purpose month-long event in Boone!
Our Pints for a Purpose initiative allows us to offer a round up option to our customers when they check out to donate to a local charity each month. At the end of the month, 100% of our customers donations will go directly to the charity organization. For June we will be supporting The High Country LBGTQ Youth Alliance.
Cheers!

Founded by Chrissy and Jacob Hofheimer, a married trans couple, the camp is part traditional retreat and part mental health intervention, described by its founders as more like a lifeline.

At a tightly guarded camp in the mountains of North Carolina, trans teens find community, structure, and a break from constant scrutiny.
