Who wants to spend the summer inside, when you could spend the summer with your friends at camp???

The apprentices are a group of 11-12th graders that will go on an outpost trip, participate in teaching crafts, have leadership lessons, become certified in CPR, and so much more. But the BEST thing about being an apprentice? The friends along the way.

We’re Hiring for Summer Camp Staff!

Camp Fire Heart of Iowa is hiring for our 2026 summer camp season, running May 25 – August 14. We’re looking for energetic, responsible, and caring individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of youth through outdoor learning and camp experiences.

Open Positions Include: Leadership Staff, Teen Program Specialist, Day Camp Counselors, Overnight Camp Counselors.

Whether you’re interested in leading a team, working directly with campers, or supporting camp operations, we have opportunities for a variety of skills and experience levels.

Winter Break Recap ❄️✨
Our campers packed so much into winter break! We made gooey s’mores, played nonstop ultimate dodgeball, and explored games from around the world. We rang in the New Year the camp way—by playing traditional Camp Hantesa games and getting creative with crafts so everyone could step into the new year in style 🎨🎉.

Our overnight was a highlight too, with evening tubing that had everyone laughing and flying down the hills! So many memories, smiles, and moments that reminded us how special camp is 💙
