Community-Engaged Leadership at App State ACT and Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) have teamed up to create the Office of Community-Engaged Leadership.

The Office of Community-Engaged Leadership (CEL) engages Appalachian State University students in academic, experiential, and community-oriented programs that enhance their capacity to serve and lead in socially-responsible ways for the benefit of their local and global communities.

Trailhead is a 5-day extended orientation program focused on creating connections, serving together, and developing leadership capacity. It is a program available to full-time, in-person students beginning school at App State in fall 2026!

Community Fellows have been working all month to prepare for tomorrow’s Plant Sale! Please come and see us between 12:30pm – 3:30pm on Sanford Mall (rain location 138 PSU). All proceeds will benefit F.A.R.M. Cafe and our “Buy Boone Lunch” day on Wednesday, April 8. This is a day where your donations will cover F.A.R.M.’s operating costs for the day and so every meal purchase that day can go straight to maintaining and expanding their mission.

NASPA 2026 RECAP!

Our staff had a wonderful time in Kansas City, MO this past week! We were fortunate enough to attend some incredibly engaging and informative sessions and we can’t wait to incorporate what we learned into our work.

Some other highlights: exploring KC! We ate delicious BBQ at Gates, spent some time in the Nelson-Atkins museum, walked through City Market, reconnected with some old (animal) friends, and visited :) if you didn’t know… the same artists who painted designed the small business (café) we visited in KC!
