Hello everyone! I wish I had better news. It appears that already marginal snow conditions combined with rain and warm weather this week will leave the ski resorts with poor conditions this Saturday. We have decided to postpone the High Country Nordic Tele Gathering until such time that we have better conditions. It just wouldn't be fair to entice you all from all over to come up and ski on mud. Beech will be making snow Saturday night but that hardly does us much good for Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed for a good snow and cold weather the first couple of weeks in March. Bill

As I alluded to in a previous post, and looking at the weather, ski conditions, and upcoming ski events, the HCNA steering committee has suggested that Sat. Feb. 25 be a day for a Tele gathering at Beech Mtn. This seems to be the day that many people are available and it offers some lead time for others to plan on. If you plan on attending, please let me know as we may be able to get group rates if enough people show up.

This year looks like a perfect storm of Telefest organizers having other obligations and pressing responsibilities this year, so that's why you haven't heard much about any events this winter. However, the idea is floating around about having a Tele day gathering without the prizes, agenda, or detailed organization that has highlighted previous TeleFests. What do you all think of that, and would you be interested in just getting together for some skiing on a Saturday? Please post your thoughts and Ideas.

Moses Cone is prime for kick and glide. Conditions should last through tomorrow. Enjoy!

7 AM report. We have about four or so inches in Boone and about 6 inches at 5000 feet in the high country. It's still snowing lightly. Enjoy but use caution. It's still pretty thin.

Snowing now in the High Country. No winds so far might mean this will be a good base for the next round later tonight. As a rule, we look for about 8" for skiable conditions. The summit road at Roan might be the best bet tomorrow. Looks like Black Balsam could be a go too!

Nordic conditions appear to be headed to the NC mountains. We'll post up conditions as the event unfolds.

Yeah, this year's silhouette is from Atticus Simpson ripping down Robin's Run during last year's TeleFest. This year we stepped it up with QuickDry shirts and they feel so good. Also, the new decals with the same ol' Kristian Jackson silhouette on the logo! A big thanks to M-Prints for the help with the production and sponsorship of our T-shirts for six year's running.

It was another successful TeleFest, and as always, it was great seeing the devoted and returning participants again this year. It was kind of cool that it happened to be 80's Retro Day as well this time.
