Please use the Locust Hills entrance this afternoon Oct 14. Road work is being done on Benjamin and the road may be blocked.

Both entrances to the neighborhood are now cleared. There are still some major ruts, so if coming in from outside of Boone, bring whatever has the most ground clearance. The Locus Hill side is probably a better choice for lower cars.

It looks like we will have a washout where Benjamin Drive meets Roby Greene. The drainage ditch is overflowing. NCDOT will fix it, but it will likely take a few days.

Road work is scheduled to fix the small “canyon” that formed in the heavy storms where our road meets Roby Greene.

Road work has been scheduled for a couple of weeks now, but is being delayed by the weather. They are waiting for a time when the road is dry and there will be enough clear days for the new stone to compact down before we have more snow or heavy rain.

Update - we are clear. Just **be careful driving** by. They have some wood to haul off. We have a tree across the road near the bottom of Benjamin. Tree clearing crew called.

Update 1 - Skybest will start letting houses connect to fiber the week of Aug 1.

Update 2 - We scheduled road work late last week. When the weather and quality of stone line up, major work will be done. Any day now.

Skybest says we are about 3 weeks from Fiber installs starting. We are tied into the overall network outside the neighborhood. Our local panel off Benjamin just lacks one part and we are good to go.
