It's that time of the month again, tomorrow, on June 6th, June's First Friday Art Crawl will be taking place. As always, you WON"T want to miss out!!!

Some events to look forward to include:

🎤 Celebrating Nth Degree Gallery's 28th Anniversary- After 7:30 PM, will be hosting art vendors alongside their regular members. Be sure to stop by and show your support!

🎤 Fizz Ed's Open Mic Night- From 5:00 PM-8:00 PM, will be hosting multiple artists for their art market. Musician, Andy Page, will be opening up the night by performing from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM. Next, the open mic night will kick off, lasting from 7:00 PM- 10:00 PM.

🎤June Gallery Reception- From 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM, the will be hosting their annual exhibition from the Blue Ridge Fiber Guild. This gallery will showcase beautiful pieces from skilled fiber enthusiasts from Northwestern North Carolina.

🎤 Turchin Center Festivities- From 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM, the will be celebrating the opening of two new exhibitions. These two exhibitions are "I remember" by Elizabeth Stone and "Image and Music" by John Cohen. Admission is free!

And as always, be sure to check out and support the artists setting up along King Street. Youth Makers will be stationed outside of the Post Office, support the next generation of artists!

There are many new and exciting art classes coming to during May and June that you won't want to miss!

🧶 Learn how to Crochet: Spa Day- Starting on May 15th, on all Thursdays from 5:30-7:00 PM, students will be able to learn to create handmade washcloths and face rounds. This class is great for beginners and anyone looking to polish their skills.

🧶 Hand Stitched Embroidery for Beginners- Starting on June 4th, and continuing the following Wednesdays in June, from 6:00-7:30 PM,students will learn beginner-friendly embroidery stitches. Stitches learned in this class will be different from previous classes making this a great opportunity for everyone.

🧶 Slow Stitch Surface Design: Intuitive Fiber Arts- Starting 12:30 PM on June 5th, and continuing the following Thursdays in June, this class will be a place for guilt-free stitching that will allow your imagination to run wild. This classes focuses in sewing with your intuition rather than rigitdy.

🧶 Design and Paint a Barn Quilt- This class will take place on June 21st and 22nd from 10:00 AM- 4 PM and 10:00 Am- 2:00 PM respectively. In this class, students will draw and paint a bar quilt over a 2-day span. All materials will be included within the course fee!

🧶 Intro to Fiber Workshop Series: Coiled Basket Making- This class will take place on June 28th from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM. This is a fun class hosted by the Blue Ridge Fiber Guild where students will be creating a small traditional basket with raffia.
