Equip Families-

We would like to invite you to join us this Saturday, August 29th as Mt. Vernon celebrates its 160th Anniversary!

Mount Vernon Baptist Church will celebrate its 160th anniversary with a special outdoor celebration on Saturday, August 29, from 4:00–8:00 p.m.

The afternoon will include free food, bounce houses for children, and local music throughout the afternoon. Guests will enjoy performances from One Heart, Petrey Family Bluegrass, Friederich Family Bluegrass, MV Worship, and the Radiate Youth Band.

The night will conclude with a concert featuring Shane & Shane, a contemporary Christian worship duo known for their acoustic, Scripture-rich music and heartfelt songs of worship.

It will be an afternoon of food, music, family, fellowship, and celebration as the church gathers together to mark this special milestone.

There are moments in life that young ball players dream about… and this week, our Equip 12U family gets to live one of them.

⚾ Cooperstown.

For these boys, it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play on one of baseball's biggest stages, create lifelong memories, and celebrate the game they love. But while we're excited about the baseball, we know this trip is about something even bigger.

At Equip Sports Ministries, our mission has never been just about developing great athletes—it's about raising young men who love Jesus, honor others, and use the platform of sports to glorify God.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." – Colossians 3:23

As we travel to Cooperstown, our team will be sharing the Gospel in simple but meaningful ways—handing out God Glove lapel pins to players from other teams, encouraging fellow competitors, and striving to represent Christ with every pitch, every at-bat, every handshake, and every conversation.

Because wins and championships are temporary…

But the impact of sharing the love of Jesus can last for eternity.

Exciting news from Cooperstown tonight for our 12U team!

Yesterday, the team had the opportunity to pray with another team. Then tonight, after Equip’s final game—and before that team’s next game—they came back to join Equip as the players gathered with their opponents for prayer.

That’s something the coaches said they’ve never experienced before.

A strong reminder that while baseball brings teams together, the Gospel is what truly unites us.

This map isn’t just about where we’ve played baseball—it’s about where God has opened doors for Equip Sports Ministry to share the Gospel.

In just two weeks, we were given the opportunity to interact with around 700 players, coaches, and families across North Carolina. 700!

Baseball is our vehicle, but Christ is our mission. We’re humbled that God allows us to use this game to point others to Him.

Thank you to every coach, volunteer, player, and family who makes this ministry possible. We would ask you to walk alongside us in prayer that every part of the ministry bears lasting fruit.

Played one of most exciting games you will ever play vs South Park. The best thing was after the game with South Park, the team came over to join us on a completely separate field for fellowship and prayer. They were pure class and truly happy for us and to have played in an amazing game together. What a blessing!
