The Battleship Iowa Amateur Radio Association (BIARA) and the Iowa’s Innovation, Engineering and Technology Team (IET) will activate the ship’s original NEPM Navy call sign this weekend (December 6 - 7)

👉The activations will be in memory of the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and all the radio amateurs and aficionados who answered the call, taking their skills into military and civilian war efforts.

Description:

South end of McHose Park in the gravel parking area. Event starts around 8AM and will last as long as you want it to. This is a free event, no registration or fees. Just show up open your trunk and sell your items.

For those interested, they have re-started the TallCorn 10 pm daily cw net. We are currently running it as a slow speed net (10wpm), so if you are a little rusty on your code, you still should be ok. Frequency of operation is 3.560 MHz. This frequency is also available for Technician Licensed operators. As mentioned this net meets 7 days a week. We are also looking for additional net control operators. There is a good description of net operations at: https://www.qsl.net/n5lf/cw-nts.html.
