Join Western Youth Network (WYN) as we cheer on John Kelly, Boone local ultrarunner, in his 2nd attempt to break the speed record of the Appalachian Trail. He is a decorated runner with numerous accomplishments covering thousands of trail miles and WYN could not be more thrilled about this partnership!

John is using this effort to raise awareness and funds for the Western Youth Network as they work towards the completion of construction on the Boone-based Youth Center. This center will provide space for WYN’s Watauga programming to expand to accommodate elementary and high school aged youth, as well as expanding the types of programming they are able to offer.

John’s previous attempt at breaking the AT speed record raised over $70k for Hurricane Helene relief in the High Country, and this year he has shifted his focus from immediate response to rebuilding for the future generations of children.

WYN is a 501c3 non-profit focused on transforming our High Country community by nurturing and empowering our children so that they live healthy, engaged and fulfilled lives.

Rain couldn't stop the fun at our Mentoring Pool Party at The Dive In!

Our kids played through the rain for the first hour, and when the skies cleared, a beautiful rainbow appeared.
🧡
Thank you to our amazing mentors for braving the weather and to the wonderful staff at The Dive In for hanging out in the rain with us. It was a great evening!
