WE know that Downtown Boone is one of, if not the, finest downtowns in North Carolina. And we know YOU think so too 😉

Help us spread the word and nominate us for “Finest Main Street/Downtown” in North Carolina! Last year, our neighbors at received the 2025 Finest Downtown Award, so let’s keep it in the High Country this year by voting for Downtown Boone.

Nominating is simple, just click the link in our bio ⬆️ Nominations close on May 15. Plus, once you enter, you’ll be automatically entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card, courtesy of Carolina Country!

There are also several other categories where you can support our Downtown Boone businesses, as well as programs and landmarks local to Boone, so be sure to check those out, too. It really is a win-win!

Did someone say FREE family-friendly movie night? YES!!! We hope to see you there!

Mark your calendars ✅ Come join us this Friday, April 24th, and celebrate a belated Earth Day in style with the Illumination Entertainment film, The Lorax 🌳

Over the past year, the Town of Boone has launched the Town of Boone Presents series, a series featuring FREE, family-friendly films for our community. And what better movie to highlight during Earth Week than The Lorax?!

Did you know the Town of Boone has been recognized as a Tree City USA since 1994? We take that designation seriously. Everywhere you go in Boone, you’ll see trees, from pines and maples to oaks and birches, and everything in between. Keeping Boone green year-round is something we truly value, which makes The Lorax the perfect choice for our spring installment of Town of Boone Presents.

We usually provide a fun snack at our movie showings, but this time, we’re doing something even better… plantable sunflower seeds! While we’d love to hand out tree seeds, you can probably find plenty of those on your own, with all the pine cones, acorns, and other seeds scattered throughout our yards year-round 😉

So make sure you come on down to the Appalachian Theatre and enjoy The Lorax with us!

🗺️ Navigating the High Country: Parkway Construction Update

We love our scenic drives, but it’s time for some "growing pains" as the National Park Service completes a historic $100M+ investment in the Blue Ridge Parkway!

Starting mid-March, intermittent closures will affect the stretch between Boone and Blowing Rock. While this means a little extra planning for our Sunday drives and commutes, the result will be a fully rehabilitated road by Fall 2026. 🍂

Access to our favorite recreation areas, like Price Lake and the Linn Cove Viaduct, will be maintained via alternating detours, so we can still get out and enjoy the peaks!

Check the maps below for the latest detour routes. 👇
For more details and current closures, visit the National Park Service website.
