On May 12, Legacy Endowment Community Foundation celebrated Jean Larsen’s outstanding leadership as our Executive Director for the last six and a half years. We also welcomed Jean’s successor, Fallbrook resident Jessica Muñoz, as she transitions into the role. Thank you to our Board members and the fundholders, community leaders, and friends who were able to join us to mark the occasion.

Awareness of Donor Advised Funds (DAF) is still low. Only about 17% of U.S. adults are familiar with them. The benefits of using them are huge, which is why, in 2024, there was an inaugural movement to increase DAF giving by designating October 9 as National DAF Day. Last year, greater awareness showed us what possible: thousands of organizations spread the word through social media which drove up web visits and the best part, generous new philanthropy made through DAF gifts – all in a single day! Legacy Endowment Community Foundation can help anyone create a new DAF and we are ready to assist. Spread the word!
