On this Indigenous Peoples’ Day, The Chamber Collective honors the deep history and enduring legacy of the region's first peoples. 🌲✨
Long before modern city borders were drawn, the plateau served a vital purpose. While not a permanent residential settlement, this land was a bustling, interconnected crossroads of trade and travel for the Puyallup Tribe and the Muckleshoot Tribe, among others.
Pathways like the historic Naches Trail served as an economic highway, connecting Puget Sound across the Cascades to Eastern Washington. It was a place where people met to exchange goods, build relationships, share resources, and create opportunities for future generations.
As a Chamber, we see a powerful reflection of that history in our modern community. Our plateau remains a thriving hub of connection, commerce, and shared prosperity where the spirit of enterprise and collaboration continues to fuel our economy.
We respectfully acknowledge the ancestral stewards of this land, celebrate their ongoing contributions to the Pacific Northwest, and commit to fostering an inclusive, forward-thinking business community that honors the deep roots beneath our feet.
