Great Plains Adaptive Riding Academy, the first of its kind in Wyandotte County, is designed to serve children and adults with special abilities including autism spectrum disorder, Down Syndrome, developmental delays, fetal alcohol syndrome, transverse myelitis, emotional disorders and vision and hearing impairments. Great Plains ARA serves individuals and families in Wyandotte, Leavenworth, Johns

on and Douglas counties, as well as greater Kansas City, Missouri, and surrounding areas on both sides of the state line.

Magic. It’s such a simple word, but here at the barn, it means so much. ❤️

Every week, 35 amazing riders show up for lessons, and the magic they bring with them is truly something special. The smiles, the accomplishments, the determination—it gives you goosebumps and leaves you with that incredible feel-good feeling!

We’ve watched riders take their first steps onto the platform, say their first words on horseback, and play a game for the very first time. These may seem like simple moments to you and me, but for our riders, they are HUGE milestones—and we are so blessed to be a part of each one. 🐴❤️

But we need YOUR help to keep the MAGIC alive at the barn!

Cowboys & Angels is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and it’s what helps us keep the doors open and provide these incredible opportunities for our riders.
