MOPACA, the Midwest Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association, promotes education about alpacas to the general public, education for alpaca owners, and information about alpaca fiber. MOPACA's PURPOSES
* Promote public awareness of alpacas and to bring national focus to the states in which MOPACA's members are located as a pleasant place to purchase and raise alpacas;
* Educate the membership of MOP
ACA on the care and breeding of alpacas;
* To provide information and resources on promoting and marketing alpaca fiber and products;
* To provide a network of communication among alpaca owners and breeders;
* To operate as an nonprofit organization within the meaning of Section 501(c)(5)of the Internal Revenue Code; and
* Adhere to the objectives of the national Alpaca Owners Association (AOA)
THE VALUE OF MOPACA MEMBERSHIP
MOPACA is a network of over farms that are willing to share information, educate others, and offer advice about alpacas.
* MOPACA's website (www.mopaca.org) is designed to promote public awareness of alpacas and to bring national focus to the states in which MOPACA members are located.
* Members receive a FREE farm listing on the MOPACA.org website, along with a brief description about their farms.
* Members may place a farm event listing on the MOPACA.org website calendar at no cost.
* The MOPACA.org website has a direct link on AOA’s website, as well as links to many other web resources.
* MOPACA syncs info with Openherd.com so that members’ listings on Openherd are also shown on MOPACA’s website.
* Members receive FREE quarterly MOPACA Newsletters via email that are filled with husbandry hints, news from member farms, ideas for marketing products, and other alpaca related information. This is also published on the website.
* Members make new friends and keep up with the industry through interaction with other MOPACA members at meetings, seminars, and our annual show.
* Members are listed in the directory of the annual MOPACA show book.
* Members receive discounts on show sponsorships and advertisements in the annual show book.
* Members are entitled to place an item in our annual show bag for FREE! The bag is distributed to show exhibitors.
* Members are entitled to attend seminars by regionally and nationally recognized experts on many alpaca related topics, at little to no cost on registration fees.
* Members receive opportunities to promote alpacas, fiber and products.
* Members may run for the MOPACA Board of Directors and offices.
