What a night, Vikings! 💙💛

Our Viking Family Spirit Night was filled with so much joy, laughter, music, and school spirit. Seeing so many of our Valley Vista families together - kids playing, parents connecting, and our community enjoying the evening is what made this event so special. ✨

A huge THANK YOU to every family who came out and supported our school, and to all of the vendors who helped make the evening possible. 1904 Street Dogs with the best street dogs & Malu Snack Bar for the best treats! & We are especially grateful to the incredibly talented young artists from the School of Rock Otay Ranch for bringing such amazing energy and live music to our event! 🎸🎶 You all were AMAZING!

Thank you to everyone purchased spirit gear, supported our 5th grade lemonade stand, participated in the activities, and simply showed up to be part of our Valley Vista community.

These are the moments that make our school feel like more than a school - they make it feel like a family. 💙

🏫 TK/Kinder & 6th Grade Update

After careful review of current circumstances, Valley Vista will not move forward with the planned teacher transitions on Monday.

✨ All Kindergarten classrooms will remain open, and teachers will stay in their current assignments.

Thank you to our families for sharing your feedback—your voices are valued.

⏰ Arrival & Dismissal Reminders

Student safety is our top priority.

Morning Arrival
• All visitors must check in using the Raptor Visitor Management System
• Proceed directly to your designated area/classroom
• Breakfast with your child is welcome after check-in
• All visitors must exit by the 8:10 AM bell and sign out through Raptor
• No check-ins for drop-off after 8:10 AM

Afternoon Dismissal
• Students are released through designated gates for parent pick-up
• LEAD and YMCA students follow their regular dismissal procedures

🚗 Parking & Traffic Safety

Help us keep arrival and dismissal safe and efficient:

Approved options:
✔️ Park and walk onto campus
✔️ Use Gate F drive-up lane for drop-off/pick-up
✔️ School bus transportation (eligible students)

Drop-off lane reminders:
• Quick drop-off only—please stay in your vehicle
• Pull forward as far as possible
• Students exit on the passenger side only
• Left lane is for through traffic only
• Do not cut in line or park in red/yellow zones
• No U-turns, double parking, or cell phone use while driving
• Follow staff directions and traffic signs
• Use crosswalks only

💙💛 Valley Vista Vikings Family Spirit Night! 💛💙

Join us for our Back-to-School BBQ on Friday, August 14, from 5:00–6:30 PM on the blacktop!

Bring the whole family for an evening of live music, food vendors, face painting, games, and Viking fun! 🎶🌭🎨

Admission is FREE, and food will be available for purchase. Face-painting tickets will be sold separately and are limited, so be sure to grab yours early!

Don’t forget to wear your Viking gear or school colors and join us as we celebrate our amazing school community and kick off the new school year together! We can’t wait to see our Viking families there!

Thank you for your vote of confidence! We are so excited and honored to serve as your 2026–2027 Valley Vista Elementary PTO Board. 💙💛

We’re entering our second year together, we’re all 3rd grade moms, and we are SO excited for everything we have planned. 🎉

Our goal is to bring our Viking community together through fun events, meaningful connections, and fundraising that supports our students, teachers, and school. But the magic only happens when families get involved! Whether you volunteer, attend an event, sponsor, or cheer us on, you’re part of what makes Valley Vista so special.

✏️ Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week is May 4–8! 🎉

💛💙There are so many ways to show your teachers what they mean to you, and these are just some fun ideas if you need a little inspiration.

🍎The most important part is letting our teachers know how truly amazing they are—and that whoever we grow up to be, it’s because we once had a teacher who believed in us and taught us not only to be smart, but also to be kind and respectful human beings.

🎉Let’s make sure they feel the love this week!

🏕️ It has definitely been a bit quieter around these parts this week as our 6th graders left on a grand adventure…. 6th grade camp!

💛💙 Even though we have missed them like crazy, we are so excited for all the fun they are having and the memories they are sure to be making.

⭐️ We are counting down the seconds until we see their smiling faces and hear all about their beautiful journey.
