Last year, we shared this adorable hatchling video. What many didn't see was the remarkable story behind it.
Buried beneath broken shells, this hatchling never made it out with the rest of the nest. It wasn't discovered until a post-hatch excavation, when the local sea turtle monitoring team found it still trapped below the surface.
With a little help, it finally broke free and began its journey to the Gulf.
