One Year of Growth, Hope, and Impact
As we celebrate one year of Rooted in Hope Beyond Survival, my heart is overflowing with gratitude.
This past year has been about far more than launching a program or building an organization. It has been about laying a foundation—one built on hope, resilience, community, and the belief that healing is possible.
Before anything else, I want to thank every volunteer, donor, supporter, board member, nonprofit partner, business partner, and individual who has stood beside us during this first year. Every phone call, Zoom meeting, training, event, donation, shared resource, encouraging word, and helping hand has helped make this mission possible.
Many people see the finished product but never witness the countless hours behind the scenes. The planning meetings. The late-night brainstorming sessions. The videos, trainings, certifications, continuing education courses, networking events, and community conversations. The tireless work of our board members and volunteers who have poured their time, energy, and hearts into creating something meaningful for our community.
This year has been filled with accomplishments that extend beyond numbers. We have built partnerships. We have strengthened relationships. We have expanded our knowledge and skills to better serve participants today and in the future. We have connected people with resources, opportunities, encouragement, and support. Most importantly, we have walked alongside individuals as they took their next steps toward healing, stability, and growth.
For me personally, this anniversary carries an even deeper meaning.
It marks a turning point in my own life—the day I chose to leave behind abuse and the life I once knew. It was the moment I turned over a new leaf, extended my branches, and began healing my roots.
I am still healing.
I am still growing.
I am still human.
But today, I can look back and see how far God has brought me.
What began as survival has transformed into purpose.
What began as pain has become passion.
What began as one person’s journey has grown into a community committed to helping others discover their own strength and hope.
One of the greatest blessings has been witnessing transformation in the lives of others. Sometimes that transformation is dramatic. Other times it is found in the smallest of victories—a participant applying for a job, setting a boundary, attending a class, seeking support, rebuilding relationships, or simply deciding not to give up.
Life brings challenges to all of us. Hardships come. Friendships change. Loss happens. Obstacles arise. Every person’s response is shaped by the experiences that formed them and the stories they carry. At Rooted in Hope Beyond Survival, we believe people deserve compassion, understanding, and support—not judgment.
We do not define people by where they came from.
We do not define people by their worst mistakes.
We do not define people by their trauma.
We believe every person has value, purpose, and the ability to continue growing.
As we look toward the future, we remain committed to serving our community, neighboring communities, our state, and ultimately communities throughout the United States. We will continue to be a voice for hope, healing, empowerment, and transformation.
Because when you help one person, it changes everything.
It impacts that individual.
It impacts their family.
It impacts their friends.
It impacts every person they encounter.
Hope creates a ripple effect that reaches farther than we can ever imagine.
I am incredibly grateful to be part of this community. I am thankful for every person who has believed in this vision, invested in this mission, and walked alongside us during this first year.
Most of all, I am thankful that God chose me to be part of this work.
As we celebrate this milestone, I invite you to join us in a simple challenge:
Impact one person’s life today.
Just one.
Refer someone to a resource.
Invite someone for coffee.
Take someone to lunch.
Offer encouragement.
Help meet a need.
Listen without judgment.
Extend kindness where it is needed most.
Never underestimate the power of one small act of compassion.
Together, we are planting seeds of hope that will continue to grow for generations to come.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
With gratitude,
