We had a fantastic time at Bonham Heritage Day yesterday. Great weather, some comms, great crowd, little bit of excitement but a really great day.

Where do you see amateur radio greeting people?
Well, on April 23, 2026 members were at the Sam Rayburn House Homeschool Day. Trailer was set up, radio on display and all set to do a Parks On The Air activation. Didn't go quite as planned, but that's okay. We had fun, didn't get rained out, and tossed an idea around.
But we have events outside club meetings planned for:
May 2 - Bonham Heritage Day with a 5k early and live music and I don't know what else is on the agenda
June 6 - Bonham State Park event
July 18(?) - Tour de Paris Bike Rally - we will work with Red River Amateur Radio Club for the event.
September 26 - Sam Rayburn House Farm Heritage Day
October 3 - Autumn in Bonham Bike Rally (we will be along the route and command center) and Davy Crockett Day in Honey Grove.

Now, for those who don't know, BSP and SRH are both POTA sites, so we try as a club to do an activation. Where else will you see radio being done "in the wild"? Or Radio In The Park? Who knows. We may be at a park near you!

Thank you Jo Ann (KA5AZK) and John (W5BWC) Keith for coming to give us the 7290 Traffic Net Training. Valuable information on message handling when it isn't an emergency so that we know what to do when it is an emergency. There's an old saying that how you practice is how you will perform.

Welcome to February! While this is the shortest month, there's no shortage of Radio Activity!

Tuesday evenings at 2000 (8p) is the regular Net on 145.470. This is a good time to dust off your radio and test it. Besides, we love hearing from you.

February 21 will be the regular Monthly meeting at the Bois D'Arc Creek Cowboy Church on SH 121 at 0900.
The Traffic Net Training with JoAnn KA5AZK will be after the business.

And with that, 73
