The Kiwanis Club of Bonham held its annual installation of officers banquet tonight, held at Seventh and Main. Kiwanian of the Year was awarded to Edwina Lane, who has steered this club as President this last year and done a wonderful job of leading by example! Representatives from Texas-Oklahoma Kiwanis - Jim Smith, Trustee and Daniel Clinton, Lt. Governor Division 8, were on hand to pass the torch from President Edwina Lane to incoming President Norman Young, as well as induct Mary-k Ashley Wilson as Vice President, John Burnett (and assistant Alicia Whipple) as Treasurer and Stacy McGraw as Secretary. An appreciation award was also given to James Manis. Stay Grounded catered a delicious meal, enjoyed by all and a fabulous cake from Mom’s Bakery commemorated the occasion! John Burnett gave a report of the past years earnings and community donations and it was a very good year to serve as Kiwanians! In true Kiwanian fashion, the evening culminated in volunteers stepping up to park cars for Autumn in Bonham. 💙💛

A heartfelt “thank you” from Terri Caffee and Cheri Frazier and just a few of the very special students that are very happy to compete in Special Olympics and appreciate the love shown by the Kiwanis club faithfully for so many years!
Terri Caffee:
“ While I will express our gratitude in person Tuesday, the Kiwanis Club believed in a dream conceived in 1980 and achieved in the spring of 1981 when our team attended the first track meet. In 46 years we've grown from a Bonham Junior High team to a combined middle and high school team. Before we knew what happened we encompassed the entire county. We added basketball, and then bocce came along! Kiwanis walked with us step by step as we grew. You will never know the depths of our gratitude!”
