This past weekend, some of our Bonham Warrior Band Members earned the opportunity to compete at the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest at Lehman High School. A huge congrats to our State competitors!

Euphonium Solo: Cullen Frazier- Division 1 rating 🥇
Brass Quartet: Zak Siler, Dylan Zuniga, Phoenix McGahee, Darren Donnan- Divison 3 rating 🥉
Brass Quartet: Ayden Beasley, Zak Siler, Landon Stauber, Cullen Frazier- Divison 3 rating 🥉

A special shoutout to Charles Thompson, Miranda Fernandez, Makayla Davies, Makayla Cowley who qualified but were unable to recover a rating.

Enjoy some pictures from the trip including a trip to the State Capital, the Bob Bullock Museum, an IMAX movie! Huge congrats to all and as always…. Go Warriors!!!

Graduation/ End of Year

Hey Band!

Happy last day of school! A couple reminders about graduation tomorrow, and end of year expectations.

The BHS Graduation will take place at Bonham Warrior Stadium at 7:30pm, with music provided by the band! All current 8th- 11th graders should plan on attending. We will have a dress rehearsal prior to performing starting at 6pm in the BHS Band Room. Afterwards, we will use the remaining time to set up chairs, stands, percussion, or anything else needed to be ready to perform starting at 7:30pm. Here are the important details:

Dress Rehearsal at 6pm in the BHS Band Room
Please plan on eating beforehand!
Dress will be "Sunday Best" Spring/ Summer Colors are fine
Come with your instrument/ music/ everything prepared
Be ready to play:
Star Spangled Banner
Pomp and Circumstance
School Song
Fight Song
Plan on staying for all of graduation, we will perform at the beginning and the end of the ceremony!

Please plan on doing the following before you leave for the summer!

Return ALL school instruments to their lockers (We will send them for repairs/ cleanings)

Return all books, tuners, mutes, mouthpieces, etc. back to the band room

CLEAN your locker, the only thing that should be in your locker is your instrument! (Personal belongs found will be collected and donated)

Take PERSONAL Instruments home immediately following graduation/ Solo and Ensemble

Hey Band!

Hang in there and finish strong as we finish out finals this week and the end of the school year. I am including incoming 9th graders on this email, so they can be in the loop about Graduation coming up, and marching band dates for next year. Seniors, this will be your last Weekly Update!

Important Dates:

May 22nd- 2026-27 Band Commitment Forms Due!
May 22nd- Graduation!
May 23rd- 24th- State UIL Solo & Ensemble
After June 8th- Summer Instrument Check-Out
June 13th- Band Booster Car Wash!

2026-27 Band Commitment Form

The 2026-27 Band Commitment Form should be reviewed, signed and returned no later than the end of the day on Friday, May 22nd. Please take a moment and complete the required documents, and get these turned in for the upcoming school year! You can complete this virtually using this link below:

Summer Instrument Return/ Check-Out

Immediately following graduation/ State Solo and Ensemble, please ensure that ALL school owned instruments/ property is left at the high school. We will be sending instruments to get cleaned, repaired, and prepped for the next school year. If you are hoping to use an instrument over the summer, students may stop by the school on or AFTER June 8th. If you have a personal instrument, please take it home and practice this summer!

Car Wash!

Our amazing Band Boosters have put together the first fundraiser of the summer, ALL of which will help to contribute to the upcoming Band Fees for the next school year. See both of the flyers below to learn more information.

The Bonham Band Program hosted the 2026 Spring Concert. It has been really amazing to see how much each grade has grown over the past year. We look forward to seeing where each of these members go from here.

Band Director Weekly Update:

Hey Band!

Welcome back to the last full week of the school year! I would like to give a huge thanks to Shea, Leah, Sandra, Heather and Greg for putting on such an amazing band banquet. Last week was incredibly busy for everybody and they rose to the challenge. Hang in there this week as we perform our Spring Concert Tomorrow!

Important Dates:

May 12th- End of Year Band Concert
May 22nd- 2026-27 Band Commitment Forms Due!
May 22nd- Graduation!
May 23rd- 24th- State UIL Solo & Ensemble
June 13th- Band Booster Car Wash!

Spring Concert

Tomorrow, Tuesday May 12th, the Bonham ISD Spring Concert will take place at 7pm in the BHS Aux Gym. This will feature grades 6-12 and will be a way to show off the incredible work we have done this semester. For this concert a Spring color palette will be allowed, as long as things stay within the dress code.

Leadership should plan on arriving around 6:30pm to help with the influx of 6th graders. Everybody else should plan on arriving around 7pm to watch the concert, then report to the band hall around 7:30pm to get ready for the performance!

We are hoping to keep the concert around 1 hour long and it is free and open to the public, so invite family, friends, and whoever you would like to see our amazing performance! Feel free to share the flyer below.

Graduation

The BHS Graduation will take place next Friday, May 22nd. Final details are still on their way, but please plan on having the morning/ evening reserved for sound check/ Graduation. We will perform the National Anthem, Pomp and Circumstance, School Song and Fight Song. We will also invite the upcoming 9th grade class of band students to join us!

2026-27 Band Commitment Form

The Commitment Form for the 2026-27 Band season will be due NO LATER THAN May 22nd. Please take a minute, read through the handbook, check out the policies, summer band camp dates, and required forms for the 2026-27 marching band season. Band Director Weekly Update:

Hey Band!

I hope you are doing well as we approach the final weeks of the semester and one week until our Spring Concert next Tuesday! Please read this as there is a lot happening this week!

May 5th (tonight)- Band Booster Meeting!
May 6th (Tomorrow)- Senior Booster Scholarship Applications Due
May 4th to 7th- Drumline/ Guard/ Freshman Clinics/ Tryouts!
May 12th- End of Year Band Concert
May 22nd- Graduation!

Band Booster Meeting

Our next Band Booster meeting of the school year will take place tonight at 7pm in the BHS Band Room. ALL are invited to attend as we make the final preparations for Band Banquet, Spring Concert, and looking forward to our 2026 marching band season!

Color Guard/ Drumline Clinics

We have our Color Guard and Drumline Clinics taking place this week, Monday- Thursday from 4pm- 5:30pm! Remember to tell a friend about these, no prior experience is necessary to attend these clinics, invite somebody you want to be in band with us!

Movement Camp

We will have our incoming freshman oriented movement camp this upcoming Thursday from 4pm- 6pm. We will play some games, learn a little bit about marching, and have some time to socialize and mingle! Anybody who would like to participate is welcome to attend, even if you are not a freshman and would like a refresher on marching! Remember to invite a band freshman you know.

Band Banquet

Our Band Banquet has been rescheduled to this upcoming Friday, May 8th in the BHS Aux Gym. We will follow the same time frame with doors opening at 6pm with food being served on a first come first serve basis. Awards will start around 7pm and should last no longer than 1 hour. Seniors/ senior parents don't forget about your display and be ready to celebrate this amazing year we've had!

Spring Concert Next Week

Our end of year Spring Concert will take place next Tuesday, May 12th in the Aux Gym. We will start promptly at 7pm and the concert should be just over an hour long. Plan on arriving around 6:30pm, watching our grades 6-8 perform at 7pm and performing closer to 7:30pm- 7:40pm. More specific/ detailed information will come out next week, but for now help spread the word. See the flyer attached below!
