Happy start to Summerfest!
**Change was sent out to students on Friday but just wanted to make the announcement here as well to make sure everyone saw the change**

Due to the parade taking place the same time as our scheduled garden work time the garden managers have elected to do a quick weeding at 10 am today.

We apologize for the late notice and completely understand if students can not make it this morning due to practices, work, or prior commitments. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility

🐮 Ready to level up your cattle fitting skills before fair season?

Join the Polk County Fair Board Cattle Department for a hands-on Cattle Fitting Clinic on:

📅 Saturday, June 13
⏰ 8:00 AM – Noon
📍 Jasper County Fairgrounds Pavilion

We’ll kick things off with a live fitting demo, then you’ll have the chance to practice fitting your own animal with guidance, tips, and feedback from experienced fitters!

✅ Bring 1 animal per family (or come observe — no animal required!)
✅ Bring your chute, blower, clippers, products, and generator if available

Polk County FFA chapters are amazing!!

This April, Iowa’s best and brightest agricultural leaders gathered in Ames for the 98th Iowa FFA State Leadership Conference — and Polk County area FFA chapters showed UP! From leadership contests and career development events to awards, performances, and unforgettable memories, our local members represented their schools and communities with pride. 🌽🐄🌟

A huge congratulations to all the chapters, advisors, parents, and members who attended and showcased the future of agriculture and leadership in Iowa. Your hard work, dedication, and passion continue to inspire the next generation!

Being an Ag teacher means sometimes you just roll with it and say let's go for fun! These 8 fearless FFA members tackled two CDEs that were totally new to us.
Milk Quality team of Adelyn, Berlin, Sophie, and Jocelyn got a shiny silver rating without too much udder chaos.
Meats Evaluation team of Jaidan, Sam, Davin, and Josh brought home a bronze rating without getting lost in the meat of the matter.
💙🤍 They made the chapter, school, and advisor very proud for stepping out of their comfort zone.
It was a great day to be a Bluejay!
