Bondurant Firefighters Local 5605 had the chance to meet with Brian Lohse, Representative, Iowa House District 45 about issues important to us. He has been a strong supporter of firefighter issues, most recently voting in favor of expanded cancer coverage and increased pension benefits. Brian and his wife, Mary, have been long time residents of our community and supported the fire department in many other ways as well. Local 5605 proudly endorses Rep. Lohse in his upcoming primary and re-election campaign!

The Bondurant Firefighters would like to wish our very own Aanna Summers, and all moms, a very Happy Mother’s Day! 🚒❤️

Aanna joined the Bondurant Fire Department in 2021 and currently serves as the Vice President of our union. When she’s not keeping the community safe, she and her husband, Will, are busy keeping up with their 2-year-old daughter, Hadley, plus their two dogs and a cat!

In this line of work, quality time is never guaranteed. That’s why Aanna cherishes her free time with family—whether they are cooking together, heading out for a ride in their side-by-side, or just enjoying a cozy day at home.

Help us celebrate Aanna and all hardworking moms today!

Last week, IPFF President Ryan Hanghian, and Vice-President Joe Van Haalen presented members of the Bondurant Professional Firefighters with their official International Association of Fire Fighters Charter.

The Bondurant Professional Firefighters are now officially an IAFF member, as IAFF Local 5605.

This is a big deal for not just the firefighters, but their families as well, ensuring that their workplace is safer, their members wellness is priority, and that they are taken care of, should something happen on the job with injury, cancer diagnosis, or worse.

It also benefits the community, as they will advocate for more rigs, proper staffing, dedicated trained fire and emergency services.
