All donations made between now and August 5th will be donated to the Newton County Back-2-School Bash hosted by our good friends at the Newton Volunteer Fire Department and Newton Revitalization Group to purchase school supplies.

We hosted the second meeting of the Bon Wier Neighborhood Watch where Newton county Sheriff Robert Burby shared some important tips regarding safety.

Be vigilant not a vigilante
Invest in video surveillance
Clearly mark your house numbers for emergency response personnel/ police
Obtain good descriptions of suspicious people/ vehicles but do not approach
Get license plate numbers when possible
Report all crime to police
Clearly document belongings such as make, model, serial numbers and take photos
Mark belongings with a "brand" mark that only you would know about in case serial numbers are removed

Next meeting will be July 20th @ 7 PM

We appreciate Sheriff Burby for coming out to Hughes Center Outreach to spearhead the first meeting of the Bon Wier Neighborhood Watch Program. We had an amazing turnout from the community and our next meeting will be June 15th at 7 P.M. and we hope to see you there!

Join us Saturday, April 1st at Newton County Farmer's Market! We will be selling the very best BBQ chicken plates (thank you Mr. Jimmy Walker) with potato salad and baked beans for $10 with all proceeds used to purchase food for our food pantry. We hope to see you there!

Due to increased chances of rain we will move distribution to Monday March 27th at 10 a.m.

Attention!: The monthly food pantry distribution will be moved from second Fridays to the third Monday of each month @ 10 a.m. Please share!
