Good morning.
I am writing this morning rejoicing in the Lord for all He has done through our labors with this campaign. I am blown away with what God accomplished in and through each of y’all in working for this campaign.
Let me start by just saying, “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
First and foremost, I praise the Lord for calling us to this task. I did not want to run in this election and made many an argument to the Lord as to why it was a bad idea, but He prevailed. I am “Oh so thankful” that He did. I pray our lives and the lives of many others will be forever changed. May Christ receive the glory due His Name and may His church be perfected as a result of this election.
I believe we ran a campaign that honored God from start to finish without compromising in truth, message or integrity in any way. God stirred us with a platform of righteousness that we were able to take to over 11,000 doors as well as to countless other folks via media. Our goal from the outset was to disciple Christians and the world as to what God’s desire for government should look like.
The most exciting part to me is that this didn’t take us away from our ministry of the Gospel- it actually facilitated it. We were also able to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to over 11,000 doors in our district. Praise God! We will never know the fruit of our labors here until eternity.
First to Robin- a noble wife, who can find? You are the defining picture of a godly helpmeet. I have true joy in “tending the garden” and “being fruitful and multiplying” with you. I love you! Thank you!,
Also first- Nehemiah, Elijah, Annah, Selah, Judah, Aliyah, Obie, Urie, Mosie, Oliviah, and Dassie- you are amazing! I have never seen folks so faithful to labor for a political purpose. Y’all busted your tail with your daily tasks so that we could make time to knock doors- even when I was working in the ER or out of town. Y’all didn’t just half-heartedly do it. You poured your everything into every conversation. You labored for the cause of the Gospel and for the cause of righteousness in our state. You held nothing back! I assure you, God will honor your labor and your sacrifice. DO NOT GROW WEARY IN DOING GOOD! For, in due time, you will reap a reward. I love you and am so thankful for each of you.
To our nutter family- Julie, Joy, Tim and Paul. Your friendship with our family is a blessing from God. Your faithful labors with this campaign was a huge help. Thank you!
Momma and Daddy, although y’all are 79 and 82 years old, you still labored at door knocked and working the polls yesterday. Wow! Y’all bless me beyond measure. I love y’all and praise the Lord for you.
Gabriel, I cannot imagine a more faithful brother, fellow elder, friend, and campaign manager. Laboring in the world and shepherding the saints with you has been one of the greatest blessings and privileges of my life. You are the picture of selfless faithfulness! THANK YOU! Although you are busy running your own company, you made time day after day to door knock, work on messaging and social media stuff, line out details, and talk to people as well as go to meetings/forums I couldn’t attend. While I hope this is my last time running for office, I pray this is only the beginning for you. I believe God used this one to prepare you spiritually to have a humble, uncompromising forehead of flint as you go forth to a rebellious and stiff-necked people. May God use you to turn many hearts to truth and obedience in Jesus.
Andre’ and Cristofer, what a blessing! Y’all somehow found time to knock doors time and again after a long day of work while also laboring at work to change minds. I don’t know how many days you left early to make things happen. Thank you.
Tracy, you are the computer man! You have been such a blessing in making our ideas come alive on a screen. Your work on our webpage has been amazing, as well as taking time to door knock.
John, thank you for working hard behind the camera and with editing to put together video for us, as well as knocking doors with the family. Y’all are such blessings!
To everyone from our local church who were able to help with door knocking, coffee making, attending forums and town-hall meetings, and tons of other things, THANK YOU! So many are not blessed with the fellowship of a local body. We praise God for each of you!
To the Carrolls- Thank y’all for repeatedly driving across the state to labor with us. Y’all’s faithful friendship and fellowship in the Gospel is invaluable. Mark, thank you for your work on videos and reels. These were so helpful!
To the families and friends who came in from South Carolina (Priscilla, Liberty, and the Gardners), Michigan (Zastrows), North Carolina (Hebbs), Florida (Kunkleman’s over and over, Delauney’s), Arkansas (Childress’s and Overstreet’s) Kansas (Jonathon) and Wisconsin (Derek), Thank you! Your sacrifice and hard work not only blessed us and helped us, but your fellowship is such a blessing to us.
Ms. Linda Davis, thank you for taking time to door knock in your neighborhood and to write “thank you notes” to every person who gave to this campaign. You are an amazing blessing!
To all the folks who donated money or time in ways that I haven’t mentioned, Thank you! We could not have done this without you.
To every person who went to the polls yesterday and worked hard holding signs and taking to folks, thank you for putting in the last effort to change hearts and minds. I’m convinced it caused folks to consider God’s heart toward government even for those who may have voted in other ways.
Lastly, to every person who voted for us. Thank you for entrusting us with your vote. We are grateful. While we are sad that we did not win the election, we are confident that the victory is ours in the truth in Jesus Christ.
As I went into this election, I joked that I would rejoice if I won because of the truth we were standing on, and I would rejoice if we lost, because I don’t have to be a senator. Well it is true. I am very thankful that we can continue serving the Lord in the path He has had us on.
To the countless Christians who have good intentions with promises of “let me know how we can help”, let this be an encouragement. “In all labor there is profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” A small handful of Christians laboring and an even smaller handful donating shook up this race with the truth. Imagine what the outcome would have been if all of these well-intentioned Christians actually stepped up to the plate.
So, how do I feel about the election? Do I have a heavy spirit this morning regarding our election and the elections around the country? Yes. I believe every word of everything we spoke during this campaign. It saddens me that more Christians of every background did not take hold of these truths. We sadly had people tell us they voted for me just because I am “white.” We also were told by folks they voted for others just because they were “black.” Others voted for bigger government and more of the same.
While we sadly live in a world where “an unbelieving world and a half believing” church thinks you have to compromise to accomplish anything, my prayer is that our campaign will stir folks to think differently and learn to trust God in the details of life. Even the “faithful Christians” make the argument that pragmatic compromise with evil is a good thing. So, when their candidate wins and carries out evil (albeit less than someone else might would have), they count it a victory. As the world stage continues to evolve toward a more dark and evil worldview as a result of this compromise and a communist muslim gets elected as mayor of New York and a God-hating baby-murdering pervert gets elected as governor of Virginia, they justify that they did their best by compromising. All the while, the liberal of 30 years ago looks conservative relative to the “conservative” of today. Meanwhile, God continues to declare that “He is Light and in Him is no darkness at all!” Please read Ezekiel 8-9. As God takes Ezekiel to each worsening abomination, the previous evil is not lessened or compromised with. Rather, they all add up to lead to destruction of everyone involved. May we have the same heart for God’s holiness and righteousness.
With all of that said, I am so excited and optimistic. God’s truth and promises are unchanged. Hallelujah! His word is living and powerful and is a double-edged sword that does not return void. It will accomplish the purpose for which He sent it. He sent it to save souls! He sent it to break down strongholds! He sent it to destroy the works of the devil! He sent it to sanctify His Bride that she would make herself ready and be found without spot or wrinkle or any such thing at His coming.
What about District 26 specifically and Mississippi as a whole? What does this election show us. We received 16% of the vote which doesn’t seem too great initially, until you consider:
1) Conservatives across Mississippi and the US took a beating yesterday. Yet, our campaign did better than anyone expected from any perspective. Why? First of all, more and more people are fed up with the political game, compromise, weakness, and being fake. Secondly, only liberals have run in this district for at least 35 years. No conservative has even run
2) While folks don’t usually say it publicly, the first answer I got when saying I wanted to run was that the district has a 73% "Black Voting Age Population" (BVAP)- “Its impossible for a white to win when it is above 52%.” Despite this, many voters chose to direct their vote based on character and righteousness rather than race!
3) In conservative Madison county, we won every precinct and received 34% of the vote, while the candidate that the GOP backed only received 8%. Their candidate is a fine young man. It tells me that conservative voters are learning how to base their vote on truth and righteous ideas rather than the standard Republican directives.
4) We had 26 donors, most of which were local or people that we do ministry with. We had a handful of local volunteers and 21 traveling friends (and some of their young children) who helped with door knocking. Imagine what impact we would have had if the church both local and distant determined to get active and fight to get Christian men elected.
In closing, He is coming soon. His faithful servants will be found “so doing” as we seek and save the lost, serve rather than seeking to be served, preach the Gospel to all creation, command the kings of the earth to fear the Lord and kiss the Son, teaching the nations to obey everything Jesus commanded, and destroying the works of the devil.
Jesus is growing and perfecting His church. We are privileged to serve Him in a time of insanity in the world where persecution is on the rise, as well as, a great gathering together and perfecting of His church.
Hallelujah! Lets run to the battle!
Charge!
With my hand to the plow and love in my heart,
Coleman
