Play Fore Pink

Play Fore Pink Raising funds for breast cancer patients and survivors. Why the Play Fore Pink golf tournament was started...

Benefiting the Carrie J.

Babb Cancer Center

In 2021, Jim Figg lost his wife, Jonnie, to breast cancer. She was one in a million, but her story is only one of millions. Theirs is not THE story, just one story, and this is a way they can give back to help other women obtain treatment. Jim wants to bring more awareness to the cause and the way men can support their spouse or partner through this difficult time. When we loo

k at the statistics, it is evident that this is something we all need to be aware of. Although we all think it will never happen to our loved one, as Jim did, no one is protected from this awful disease.
• There are 250,000 diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Of that, there are 46,000 deaths
• Breast cancer is the 2nd leading cause of death in women. Metastatic breast cancer counts for 66% of those dying from breast cancer.
• As of 2020, there were 3.8 million with a history of breast cancer. The median age for diagnosis is 62 years old.
• The median survival rate is 18 – 24 months with treatment. This tournament will be a traditional 4-man scramble with a pink ball mulligan included with the team entry. Cash Award for three flights, three places. Lunch will be provided at the conclusion of play. A silent auction will be held during and after the tournament.
