The countdown continues to symposium day!

Boise State undergraduates from across disciplines will deliver dynamic talks on everything from harnessing creative energy and bridging cultural gaps, to countering reductive narratives and augmented reality spacesuits at the fourth annual Ethos Project symposium, 6-8 p.m., Monday April 22, in the Jordan Ballroom.

“As NASA looks to Mars and beyond, updating their technology to adapt to the challenges of a new planet is crucial,” says junior Boise State College of Innovation + Design's GIMM program and Computer Science Department at Boise State University double-major Olivia Thomas, who is currently in Houston at the Johnson Space Center with Boise State's NASA SUITS team.

“I’ll be discussing how my team and I are helping NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration to design the next generation of spacesuit.”

The Ethos Project symposium empowers students to become advocates on campus and in the community. The event is free and open to the public.

What are we looking for in a speaker?

Our ideal speaker is dedicated, passionate, and creative. They think outside the box of what is expected to make an impact in the community. They have a project based on individual research that aims to create change. They are upstanders, they use their story to inspire others, and they are eager to grow. If this sounds like you, go apply to speak at the symposium!

Why should you apply to be a speaker?

Speaking on the symposium stage can be a life-changing experience. Often times, students hit a point in their projects where they find themselves asking "now what?" Our symposium is designed to empower students who are already advocates for change on campus and in the community. Speaking at the symposium isn't just giving about giving a presentation. We assist students in shaping and advancing their ideas and learning how to tell their stories. You will leave the stage with a whole new set of tools and connections to drive your project forward.
