Idaho Smart Growth Idaho Smart Growth brings people together to create great places to live. This cuts transportation costs for individuals and families.

Smart growth is about having housing and transportation choices near jobs, shops and schools. This approach builds community, supports local economies, and protects the environment. For example, we help ensure that roads safely accommodate cyclists, pedestrians, transit users and motorists and provide routes to where we want to go.

The League of American Bicyclist LCI Seminar has been rescheduled to Nov 6-8. If you are interested in becoming a Leage Cycling Instructor without having to travel out of state this event is for you! Early Bird registration ends 10/9/26 11:59 PM ET, rate increases by $75. Registration closes on 10/16/26 11:59 PM ET. Register for the Seminar here: https://bikeleague.org/ridesmart/become-instructor/seminar-schedule/

Here is info from the League on the benefits of becoming a LCI.

League Cycling Instructors (LCIs) are ambassadors for better biking through their education efforts.

After earning certification through a three-day, League Coach-led seminar, LCIs can teach a variety of Smart Cycling classes to children as well as adults, helping them feel more confident and secure about riding. From our youth focused classes to our Bicycle Friendly Driver curriculum, LCIs can educate people who bike and drive how to safely and legally share the road.

As a League Cycling Instructor, you could be the reason one more person chooses to hop on the saddle — and do so with confidence. LCIs have access to educational materials developed by the League and can take part in opportunities to meet other educators, continue their own education, and learn how to be an advocate for better biking in your community.

You don’t have to be an extraordinary athlete or overachieving student to be a stellar LCI, all you need is the conviction that life is better for everyone when more people ride bikes.

The League has certified more than 7,400 people as League Cycling Instructors. Are you next?
