Moonsong Malamute Rescue, Inc As an affiliate to AMAL, MMR operates under AMAL's code of ethics.

Moonsong Malamute Rescue is a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to assisting Alaskan Malamutes and Mal-A-Nuff dogs when in crisis in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Utah and N Nevada. We are affiliated with the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League (AMAL), which is the national rescue organization recognized by the Alaskan Malamute Club of America. We offer educational material about the Alaskan Malamute and Mal-A-Nuff dogs and can assist in resolving containment issues, are able to help an owner with appropriately re-homing their Malamute when necessary, and provide behavioral issues support in the form of referrals to trainers and other more experienced Malamute owners. Donated funds are also used to help care for Malamutes and Huskies with adoptable personalities who have been pulled from shelters, or who have been seized by authorities after having been abandoned, neglected, or abused.

😰 URGENT: FOSTER NEEDED! 🐕

Friends, we are STILL looking for a foster home for sweet 1 year-old Milo and are quickly running out of time. We have to pull Milo by Friday, October 16th, 2026, AT THE LATEST. We can't pull him unless he has a home to go into and right now, we are FULL.

Milo is currently completing a second 9-week obedience training 🏋course as a partnership between a rural Wyoming shelter and a correctional facility. His inmate handlers have been socializing him and working on commands with him and have done a tremendous job so far. However, his second 9-week training program is ending soon, and he will regress if he goes back into the shelter.

*Puppy*
*Cautious / Shy*
*Good with other dogs of all sizes*
*16 weeks of obedience training completed*
*Crate-trained*

If you have adopted or fostered before with us, you are already approved - if you have not, please fill out a foster/adoption application at the link below:

Please email [email protected] with ALL questions. *We don't have enough resources at the moment to answer to post comments*
