Targeted Trapping – Organize Your Efforts and Help More Cats
“Targeted Trapping” is a term that was coined by Alley Cat Allies for the most efficient and effective effort to help the most cats in the shortest amount of time trapping. Targeted Trapping means aiming to trap every cat in a colony or specific area for Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and then expanding to surrounding colonies. Targeted Trapping is a strategic, smart approach because it produces measurable results, and maximizes your resources and staff/volunteer time.

This method is about “working smarter, not harder.” Since targeted trapping focuses on an entire colony instead of only neutering a few cats at a time, life improves for every individual cat in the colony immediately and there will be no more kittens.

🩺🐾 WANTED: ONE PURRR-FECT VETERINARIAN 🐾🩺

We’ve checked under the exam tables. We’ve asked the cats. We’ve questioned the dogs. We even shook the treat bag just in case.

We are STILL on the hunt for our next full-time veterinarian! 🔎🐶🐱

WVHS is currently seeking a Medical Director — a licensed DVM with a passion for shelter medicine and a desire to make a BIG difference for animals and people in our community.

What does the job look like?

✂️ High-volume spay/neuter — lots of it!
🩺 Shelter medicine and preventative care
🕵️ The occasional "Okay... how did you even DO that?” mystery injury or illness
🐱 Helping us work toward bringing back Community Cat Programming
💜 Helping rebuild opportunities for low-cost spay/neuter services for our community
🐾 Leading a medical program focused on saving lives and getting animals healthy, altered, and HOME

We’re looking for someone who understands that shelter medicine can be unpredictable, challenging, occasionally weird, incredibly rewarding... and rarely boring. 😂

But this position is about even more than the animals inside our shelter.

The right veterinarian will help WVHS expand what we're able to do for pets and the people who love them throughout Canyon County.

We aren't simply looking for someone to make a difference.

We’re looking for someone ready to BE the difference. 💜

If you’re a DVM looking for meaningful work where your skills can have an enormous impact—or you know the purrr-fect veterinarian who might be—**PLEASE SHARE!**

📩 Interested veterinarians can send a resume or questions to [email protected] or view our official job posting at https://humanepro.org/jobs/medical-directorlead-veterinarian

🐶🐱 Come practice medicine with purpose. Help us build what comes next. 💜🐾
