We are a select treble chorus devoted to excellence in choral performance and in building a space where every voice feels safe, seen, and celebrated.

The Boise Women’s Chorus is a diverse group of singers united in our mission to perform music that celebrates and encourages women and the LGBTQ community. Our songs will engage the heart, celebrate the spirit, and enrich the minds of our audiences. All are encouraged to join us assuming you can sing soprano and alto parts. We provide a Chorus membership handbook and ask members to pay a minimal

fee to cover the cost of music and licensing each concert term. Thanks to a generous benefactor, Boise Women's Chorus rehearses on Tuesday evenings at a large, safe space at Whitney United Methodist Church. Thank you Whitney UMC!

Oddballs & Outcasts — a Lumina Treble Chorus Cabaret — is a night built around the vulnerability of being different and the joy of finding your people anyway.

Four days from now on August 22, our performers will put their unique quirks, feelings, and perspectives on full display in a showcase of song, dance, recitation, and drama that is funny, moving, and completely one-of-a-kind.

Nervous about auditioning? We get it.

Here's what actually happens at a Lumina audition:

You arrive. We greet you warmly. You warm up with other newcomers. We do some pitch matching, a little range exploration, and some call-and-response listening exercises.

That's it. No solo performance. No judgment. Just a friendly conversation between us and your voice.

We welcome experienced singers and those still finding their way. What matters most is your willingness to show up and work hard. We'll support the rest.

🎶 Lumina Treble Chorus is holding auditions — and we'd love to meet you.

We're a select treble chorus based in Boise, devoted to excellent music-making and to building a community where every voice feels safe, seen, and celebrated. We rehearse every Tuesday from 7-9pm at Whitney United Methodist Church and perform two ticketed concerts a year.

AUDITION DETAILS
📅 August 4 and August 11, 2026
🕕 6:00 - 6:45pm
📍 Whitney United Methodist Church, 3315 W Overland Rd, Boise (side door entrance, ample parking)

No need to prepare anything. Auditions include pitch-matching exercises, range warmups, and some listening and repetition exercises. We welcome singers of all experience levels — what matters most is a love of music and a willingness to work hard. We offer practice tracks, sectional rehearsals, and a musical coach to support every singer.

Membership dues are $80 per cycle or $150 for a full season. Scholarships are available. We never want finances to stand between someone and this community.

Why Lumina?

Lumina comes from the Latin word for light. And that's exactly what we believe music does. It illuminates. It warms. It makes people feel seen.

We've always been a chorus that believes in more than just great singing. We believe in safe spaces, vulnerable storytelling, and the kind of harmony that happens between people, not just voices.

Lumina felt like us. We hope it feels like you too.

We have some exciting news to share with our Boise community.

Boise Women's Chorus is becoming Lumina Treble Chorus.

The name is new. The heart is the same.

Lumina, from the Latin word for light, reflects who we've always been and where we're going. We're a chorus that believes music doesn't just entertain. It heals. It builds belonging. It makes people feel less alone.

We're also opening our doors wider than ever — welcoming all treble voices into our community.

Same Tuesday night rehearsals. Same joyful, story-driven music. A bigger, brighter vision.

More details coming soon, including audition dates for new singers who want to add their voice to ours. 🌟

The Red Thread is a powerful multimedia concert experience inspired by the age-old parable of the invisible threads that connects us all, across time and space — celebrating our shared human experiences as stronger bond than anything that divides us.
