Dear VSO Friends,

After 14 years of dedicated service supporting the Sisters of the Miraculous Medal, children, and impoverished communities in Kontum, Vietnam, we write to share that Children of VSO will conclude its mission and formally close on December 31,
2025.

Until then, we will continue directing our remaining funds toward community projects, ensuring that every resource entrusted to us is used for the good of those we serve.

Your steadfast prayers, generosity, and encouragement have carried us through this incredible journey. Together, we have accomplished so much—and for that, we are deeply and eternally grateful.

This decision has not come easily. Several factors, including ongoing health challenges among our team and their families, have made it increasingly difficult to devote the time and energy required for fundraising and administration. After much reflection and prayer, we believe this is the right moment to bring our organization’s chapter to a close.

Though our mission is ending, our connection to the Sisters and the children remains unbroken. We will continue to visit them individually whenever possible, and they will always remain in our prayers. We warmly invite you to keep them in yours as well.
Since our beginning in 2011 with a small group of volunteers from Boise, Idaho, we have been blessed with unforgettable experiences, lifelong friendships, and countless moments of joy with the children we’ve served.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your friendship, generosity, and unwavering support. Your compassion has left a lasting legacy in Kontum—one that will continue to uplift lives long after our mission concludes.

With deepest gratitude,

Children of VSO

Each year, with the help of gracious donors like you, we are able to significantly expand our reach in the communities we serve in many villages in the region of Kon Tum.
This year is no different, with your support, we were able to provide over 1000 meals for the young adults and children who attended summer schools, summer camps, and summer music programs. We were able to provide music instruments and computers for students at boarding schools, which wouldn’t be possible without your support.

From the bottom of our hearts, Thank You and God Bless.

Our group visited Kon Bơbăn village and boarding house in Ngọc Réo commune, Đắk Hà district, Kon Tum city, which are under the care of by Father Lorenzo Phạm Trung Kiên.
It was a real joy to share a little love with the children here.

In your act of generosity, we find an illuminated path forward, guided by your compassion. Your kindness not only lights the way for those we serve but also serves as a guiding star that leads us in our mission. Thank you for your heartfelt and kind-hearted donations.

Part 2 of 2:
Today our group visited Kon Rơng village, Đông Hà commune, Đak Đoa district, Gia Lai province, over 80 kilometers from Kon Tum and more than 2 and a half hours drive.
There are over 3,000 ethnic minority people here, under the care of Father Lê Thành Trung. This place is almost isolated from the outside world and the people are very poor, lacking almost everything. The children do not often interact with outsiders, so they are very shy and somewhat afraid when visitors come.
Our group was very happy to be able to give the children sandals, uniforms and bicycles for the next schoolyear. Although it was only a small gift within the ability of the association, but we wrapped it with all our love, hoping that the children will also have a little joy today.
Also thank God because it has been raining all week... but today the rain stopped briskly to welcome us to this remote village.
The VSO team is also extremely grateful to all the benefactors who have always provided financial support and encouragement so that we can complete our mission of bringing love, faith, and hope to the poor people here.
