25 years ๐Ÿ’™ 44 counties: Idaho County
It's Foundation Friday! We traveled deep into Idaho County to visit with the Elk City Area Alliance, a nonprofit that does great work to serve the unincorporated Elk City area.

When you're as remote as Elk City โ€” a good hour from Grangeville โ€” there can be challenges and a lack of resources. It was good to hear how organizations and community members work together to make things happen. We appreciated learning about the Elk City community on our 25th anniversary tour. Thanks for everything you do, Elk City Area Alliance. Elk City, Idaho

๐ŸŽ‰ 25 Years. 44 Counties. ๐Ÿ“Lewis County

Our latest anniversary stop brought us to the City of Wi******er, where we visited with Mayor Miriam Youngren, who has been participating in our Mayor's Walking Challenge since 2019.

She showed us around some of Wi******er's community treasures, including the city park and library. The library is much more than a place for books. It features a community garden and a kitchen that hosts cooking classes, creating opportunities for residents to learn, connect, and stay healthy.

Between the community center, nearby state park, welcoming residents, and some of the best beef sticks around, Wi******er proved to be a memorable stop on our journey celebrating 25 years of improving the health of Idahoans.

Thank you to the City of Wi******er for your partnership and commitment to building a healthy community! ๐Ÿ’™

Talk about teamwork! Our program officers put on a clinic at the United Way of Treasure Valley's FlapJack Feed on Thursday morning. What a fun event to be a part of, and it was great to see so many local mayors participating, too.

We visited Bingham County and stopped by to see our partners in the Blackfoot School District #55. The district received a health professions CTE grant to support medical assisting and EMT programs. We also helped the school introduce an evidence-based program that promotes positive behaviors for students. It was great to see so many partners at the Idaho Association of School Administrators summer conference! Our presentation with Brian Smith of the Moscow School District shared how he leveraged grant funding to build partnerships that led to the creation of a wildly successful Certified Nursing Assistant health professions CTE program.
