What happens to veggies that don’t sell at the farmers market, you ask?

Amazing people in supportive organizations come together to meet community needs in a multi-level approach.

Behold the market surplus program! A collaboration between Global Gardens, Idaho Food Bank, and the City of Good. Designed to reduce food waste, compensate local farmers, and improve accessibility for nutrition-dense produce for our neighbors in the Treasure Valley.

📣This beautiful family-owned local agricultural business belongs to and today they launched a new pick-up location in the Global Gardens Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.

CSA = veggie subscription that runs for 18 weeks. MUST SIGN UP IN ADVANCE!

Thank you for your support and partnership. Adding this new location in West Boise expands access to local produce for community members.

Registration closes soon for the West YMCA pick-up location. Contact us to sign up before a June 12 or follow the link in our bio.

Reducing food waste & nutritious food insecurity… one box of veggies at a time!

We had a dry run of the market surplus operation this week and we are stoked for another great season.

The Global Gardens Market Surplus Program is a collaboration between Global Gardens, City of Good, and the Idaho Food Bank.

We make sure surplus veggies from the market go to local food pantries—not the landfill.

Volunteers and staff weigh, sort, package, and deliver fresh produce to community partners to make fresh produce accessible to communities in need. 🍅🥦
