Each month we hear a woman form our community share about how God has been active in her life during a trial and how His word was still applicable today as she walked through it. We are tackling tough subjects at times, s
uch as drug abuse, domestic violence, homosexuality, po*******hy, terminal illness…
We also have a time of Praise & Worship and individual sharing, as well as highlighting a ministry with local ties, inviting them in to share with us and set up a table to give us more information. This is a non-denominational ministry, Biblically based ministry that desires to encourage, exhort, equip and evangelize the women of the Treasure Valley and beyond. We are still young and small but active and growing! This is an inter-denominational group with women from numerous churches and backgrounds who proclaim Jesus and His gift of Salvation through Grace to be the only way to eternal life in Heaven. We are currently meeting at Selah Medical Center in their beautiful, large waiting room! There is no cost to attend these gatherings. All women are welcome, come as you are!

March 1, 2016- Over the past year we have had custody of 2 of our grandkids and are hoping to soon have 3 more. We will hopefully be reunited with them any day now! All 5 range from age 8 (as of 1 week ago) to age 1 (as of 2 weeks ago).there are three boys and 2 girls. It has been a long year and has changed my ministry, short term at least. I am still speaking, although I have slowed down during this transition period. I would still love to stay in contact with everyone, and have changed the majority of my less often postings to my Raini's Place page here on Facebook. Please follow me there! I'm waiting to see what God will do!

Are you missing my posts? Hop on over to my Raini Bowles- Speaker page and like that instead. Last March my life changed significantly and I have had to end my SHINE ON groups. I have been speaking quite a bit though and am on the pet page much more often. I simply don't have the time to keep up with so many pages any longer and it appears it will be a very, very long time before I have that kind of time again. I miss seeing many of you and hope to see you again at some great event! Spread the word that I'm available to speak and let's see each other soon!

Sometimes life is just full of hard “stuff”! Often it is the truly unexpected “stuff” that sneaks up and catches us the most off guard. So, what are you going to do with that “stuff”? Well, we could let it get us down, OR we could hold on tight to weather the storm and live to SHINE ON.
I know a bit about weathering storms of the personal kind; and I have had a good number of my own. I have overcome and learned that there can always be a light, and an end, and even a rainbow with each storm, if you have the right view, or perspective.
But, it is not just me... as the “mama” to more than a handful, or two, of kids (many now grown and gone), all of whom have experienced some kind trauma in one way or another, I have gained even more experience and insight into the world of trauma and storms. I have seen first hand how this works. It is possible to Weather Life’s Storms, and live to Shine!
On this page I hope to share a bit of my journey, and encourage you in yours.
Previously, this page was formally used for a ministry and group I hosted called “A Place to Shine”. However, my own family was hit hard three years ago by a colossal storm that changed the course of my life, and my entire families, as we found ourselves first with custody of two of our grandsons, and then fostering three more of our grand-kids.
After a long journey of just over three years, we became their permanent legal guardians, yes, to all 5 of them! The youngest was only a few weeks old when this journey began, so this is truly a lifetime commitment. In a way this is a storm that will forever leave a mark, requires a lot of rebuilding of our lives, and has forever changed us and all that surrounds us.
Because these kids have also experienced a great deal of trauma, and have other life challenges, this is not a quick passing storm, but more like a great drought type of storm. I am committed to striving to hold tight to my anchor, and live to Shine, even in the midst of the storm!
I guess in a very real way I have become a professional Trauma Mama. Please give me a bit of Mercy and Grace as you read my posts... this is all real and raw! I am learning, in the middle of my storm, how much that seems impossible, is actually possible!
