What a fun weekend we had at our annual sliding scale Wilderness First Aid course! 🌲⛑️

Sierra Club Outings Leaders, volunteers, and community members got together to learn wilderness medicine basics, and get hands-on practice in administering life-saving first aid in the backcountry when EMS is far away. Thanks to everyone who came, and special thanks to for helping take these awesome photos and to for hosting us. Until next year!🥾

We are so excited to announce an LGBTQ+ beginner rafting trip on Saturday, June 27th along the Payette River, in collaboration with ! 🏳️‍🌈🏞️

This trip will be LGBTQ+ only, size-inclusive, and perfect for people who are new to whitewater rafting. Gear will be provided, and we’ll walk you through the basics so that everyone feels comfortable on the water. This trip is being offered on a sliding scale, pay-what-you-can basis.

This trip will be VERY LIMITED IN SIZE, so if you are interested in attending, please save the date that RSVPs will open: next Friday, June 5 @ 5pm MT. We will post on social media at that time with the link to register!

One of our Idaho Chapter Board members, Kelly, was in Washington, D.C. last week with other Sierra Club volunteers to lobby our Senators and Representatives to protect our public lands and wildlife! She even got to sit down and talk with Senator Risch directly. Thank you for bringing the voices of Idaho Sierra Club’s members and supporters to Capitol Hill, Kelly! ✊🌲

"In 2025, more than 100 dams were dismantled in 30 states, reconnecting around 4,900 miles of waterways...The resulting free-flowing waterways are healthier, cooler and less prone to algal blooms, and serve as vital habitat for migratory fish and other aquatic life."

Join us for a hike in the Oregon Trail Recreation Area on June 4th! This loop will include a gradual climb up to a ridge with views overlooking the Boise River and Diversion Dam. 🥾

Our Outings Leader will stop along the way, sharing context about the rich and complex history of the land and those who traveled on it, including the land's much longer history as part of the traditional lands of the Newe (Shoshone-Bannock) people. We'll also share about the grassroots efforts to protect this space, and share out ways that participants can work with the Idaho Sierra Club to defend our public lands! 📢🌲

We’re excited to co-sponsor an upcoming event on May 23rd with Nimiipuu Protecting the Environment along the beautiful Selway River in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest! 🌲
