BREAKING: The Trump admin is trying to slash protections for 45 MILLION acres of our wildest national forests by repealing the Roadless Rule—one of the most important policies in the history of our public lands. 🚨🌲

The Roadless Rule protects some of the last old-growth forests in the country from new roads and industrial development. It protects clean water sources for millions of people, critical habitat for wildlife, and wild places for hunting, fishing, and recreation.

We can demand our forests remain protected if enough of us speak up. We have 30 days to submit public comments to tell the Trump administration to protect the Roadless Rule: sc.org/RoadlessRule

🚨 DEADLINE FRIDAY (Tomorrow!): The Department of the Interior is undergoing a sweeping “review” of the policies that safeguard our wild public lands for generations to come.

Over 200 million acres nationwide are at risk, and included in that are over 1.73 million acres in Idaho, spanning the wild places you know and love like the Frank Church Wilderness, Craters of the Moon monument, the Owyhee River Wilderness, and much more.
These places could be at risk for industrial development, resource extraction, unsustainable motorized vehicle use, privatization, and other activities that threaten these landscapes. We can't let this happen.

Submit a comment TODAY to defend wilderness and wilderness-quality lands in our National Parks, National Wildlife Refuges, and areas overseen by the Bureau of Land Management. 🔗 sc.org/wilderness

Dreaming of clear blue skies...💭 A couple weeks ago, our OUTdoors Idaho group took a bike ride to Lucky Peak! The small but mighty group travelled along the Boise Greenbelt, taking in gorgeous views of East Boise and enjoying the early morning cooler temperatures together. 🚲🏳️‍🌈

We wrapped up the trip with some pizza and community-building time. Special thanks to Dave, Chelsea, and Jennifer for leading this great event!

The smoke might be putting the brakes on some outings right now, but as soon it's safe, we're plotting out the next adventure! 🌲

Despite a severe increase in extreme weather, the amount of news coverage mentioning climate change when reporting on disasters such as hurricanes, fires, and floods has fallen significantly in recent years. According to Grist, global media coverage of climate change has dropped 38 percent in the last 5 years.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) has proposed weakening Endangered Species Act protections for grizzlies in the Lower 48 by revising the rules that regulate when these bears can be killed, injured, or harassed. ❌🐻

It's the latest attack from the Trump administration’s campaign to weaken protections for wildlife, dismantle environmental safeguards, and open more public lands to industrial exploitation.

➡️ Take action now! Send a comment before the deadline on the 17th to FWS telling them to keep grizzly bear protections strong and stop any weakening of safeguards for these iconic bears.

Join us at the Free The Snake Flotilla, led by Nimiipuu Protecting the Environment, to rally for a free-flowing lower Snake River on Sept. 11 - 12 at Hells Gate State Park (Lewiston, ID). 📣🛶

This year's flotilla will begin Friday evening with dinner, an outdoor film screening of The River Remembers, and live music. On Saturday, we'll have the flotilla, a salmon lunch, partner tabling, a powerful program of speakers, and all sorts of activities.

Gather in community, meet fellow advocates, learn from Tribal leaders, and take meaningful action towards salmon recovery in the Columbia Basin and healing the Snake River!
