Treasure Valley Habitat for Humanity We are a nonprofit, ecumenical, Christian housing organization committed to helping Idahoans. https://linktr.ee/treasurevalleyhabitat

Founded in 1990, Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity is one of over 2000 affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International. Operated on Christian principles, Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Building simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with volunteers, donors, and sponsors, Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity works in support of families who invest hundreds of "partnership hours" in preparation for successful homeownership.

Meet Morgan DeCarl, our new Executive Director! 💚

After serving as our Operations Director for the past two years, Morgan is stepping into this new role with a strong passion for our mission and the Treasure Valley community.

With a background in the nonprofit sector and a deep belief that everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home, Morgan is excited to lead Treasure Valley Habitat for Humanity into its next chapter. Her commitment to our mission includes not only helping more families achieve homeownership, but also ensuring homeowners can age in place safely and with dignity.

We’re excited to begin this new chapter with Morgan at the helm as we continue working alongside our volunteers, partners, and community to build affordable housing, support local homeowners, and create a stronger Treasure Valley for everyone.

Help us give Morgan a warm welcome to her new role! 🏡💚

A big thank you to Bank and one of our Women Build teams, Hammerin’ Heroines, for spending time on the job site and helping us build toward a stronger future for local families! 🛠️💙

Both teams rolled up their sleeves and got to work, and we’re especially excited to welcome Hammerin’ Heroines back for their second build day with us! With volunteers like these, we’re making great progress as we start building vertically and getting walls up on the job site. 🏡

We’re so grateful for the time, teamwork, and hard work you bring to our mission. Thank you for helping us build homes, community, and hope in the Treasure Valley! 💚

👻🎃 Things that should SCARE homeowners… and how to keep them from becoming a real fright!

From slippery bathrooms to tricky stairs, some home hazards can make everyday life a little scarier than it needs to be. The good news? Sometimes, a few simple safety improvements can make all the difference!

Our Home Repairs program specializes in helping eligible homeowners age in place safely and independently with accessibility improvements like ramps and grab bars. 🏡

It’s officially boo basket season! 👻🍂 And of course, if Habitat had a boo basket, we’d have to fill it with a few things that are close to home.

Naturally, ours comes with a little extra homebuilding spirit. 💚🏡 What are you adding to your boo basket this year?

We had a great time at the Dick Eardley Senior Center Health & Safety Fair yesterday!💙

Our team loved connecting with the community and sharing more about our Home Repairs program and how we help our neighbors age safely and comfortably in their own homes.

A big thank you to the Dick Eardley Senior Center for hosting such a great event and giving us the opportunity to connect with our community! 🏡

For nearly three decades, Debbie Swanson has called her Habitat for Humanity home her own. 💙

After a fall highlighted the need for a safer way to enter and leave her home, our Home Repairs team installed a wheelchair-accessible ramp to help Debbie continue living safely and independently in the home she loves.

Debbie’s story is a reminder that Habitat’s mission doesn’t end when a home is built. Through critical home repairs and accessibility improvements, we help homeowners remain in the homes where they’ve built a lifetime of memories.

Because everyone deserves a safe place to call home, for years to come. 🏡

So much of what makes Treasure Valley Habitat what it is today has Janessa’s impact behind it. 💙

From expanding into Canyon County to launching our Home Repairs program and building meaningful community partnerships, she’s helped shape our organization in so many incredible ways. As she heads into her next chapter, we’re taking a moment to celebrate just a few of the many things she’s accomplished during her time here.

Thank you, Janessa, for everything you’ve done for Habitat and the families we serve. We will miss you! 🏡

10/08/2026

After six and a half incredible years, we’re saying thank you to Janessa for the lasting impact she’s made at Treasure Valley Habitat for Humanity. 💙

Janessa has truly shaped this organization for the better, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without her leadership, dedication, and the heart she’s poured into this work. We’re so grateful to have had her as part of our Habitat family and for everything she’s helped build along the way.

As Janessa reflects on her time at Habitat, she shares how this organization has shaped her, the people who have made it special, and why change can be a good thing. While we’ll miss having her here, we’re excited to see where she goes next and where she’ll share her many gifts.

As we look ahead, we’re also excited to welcome Morgan, our current Operations Director, as the new Executive Director of Treasure Valley Habitat.

Thank you, Janessa, for everything you’ve given to this organization and the communities we serve. Your impact will last for years to come, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for you! 💚

🏈 Meet Team Habitat!

From calling the plays to building the foundation, every position plays an important role in helping us build homes, community, and hope across the Treasure Valley.

Our office team, construction crew, Home Repairs team, ReStore, and volunteers all bring something different to the field — and we couldn't do it without each other.

Different positions. One team. One mission. 💙💚
