Rivergate Townhome Subdivision at 3099 W Moore Street. Public Hearing before City Council on Tuesday, May 5, at 6PM.

Your WENA board will speak during time allotted to the neighborhood association. WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! So that the board president can present a summary of comments/concerns of our members. THIS IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE for individual verbal or written testimony; it's in addition to it.

Neighborhood Associations are given more than 3 minutes to testify. WENA will use that time to the benefit of our members.

Reply to this post, send a pm, or send an email to [email protected]. You can always speak directly to a board member too.

The City of Boise is beginning an update to the Historic Preservation Plan, which guides how the city identifies, protects, and celebrates historic places across our community. The Historic Preservation Plan extends beyond just our historic districts and touches every part of our city. From individual buildings and neighborhoods to cultural and community landmarks, the plan helps shape how Boise grows while honoring its history citywide.

The first step in this process is hearing directly from residents. We are currently collecting community feedback to better understand what historic places matter most to people and where improvements may be needed. This input will help shape the goals, strategies, and recommendations in the updated plan.

A public survey is now available and open to everyone: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/boisehistoricpreservation

If you would like city staff to attend an upcoming association meeting to provide an overview of the Historic Preservation Plan update and answer questions, we would be happy to coordinate.

If residents would like to learn more about the Historic Preservation Plan update, including the project background and ways to get involved, they can visit:
https://www.cityofboise.org/departments/planning-and-development-services/planning/planning-a-project/planning-process-overview/historic-preservation/historic-preservation-plan/

Thank you for helping us connect with the community and for your continued partnership. Your voices play an important role in shaping Boise’s future while honoring its past.

From the City of Boise:
Help keep your community safe this holiday season by disposing of batteries properly. Lithium-Ion (rechargeable) and Lithium (non-rechargeable) batteries DO NOT go in the trash, recycling, or compost carts. These batteries are commonly found in electronics, power tools, vehicles, appliances, and toys.

Improper disposal can cause fires, which puts you, your neighbors and Republic Services employees and trucks at risk. Please take these batteries to a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) mobile collection site. To find the closest HHW site, visit https://www.cityofboise.org/hhw

Alkaline batteries are the only type that are safe to place in the trash. If you are unsure of which kind you have, reach out to Curb It at (208) 608-7136.

Household hazardous waste comes from products with ingredients that can harm human health and the environment. Properly disposing of these hazardous products will keep our community safe and clean.
